if it's a manual rack you'll be fine! de-powered power racks suck at first, but still you get used to it.
have fun |
The best kind, as far as I'm concerned.
|
Installed temp. gauge, swapped to the aluminum hood, and dropped the spare diff. last night!!!

http://i55.tinypic.com/b503es.jpg Thanks, Andrew |
wow thats clean...please don't ruin it by turning it in to a MISSILE! just drift the crap out of it and keep it classy.
|
I'm going to have to agree with slowgxl, that thing looks pretty damned straight.
Reminds me way too much of my first base FC, on 280ZX wheels and a 'vert hood. |
that is way too nice to be a missle.... yet :)
|
you have way too many landscaping tools. |
Thanks for all the nice comments!!! I had a great time today just practicing, meeting new people and having fun! SO much fun in fact, that I'm now running on one rotor :/ But what do you expect for an original 143k engine revved up like a top :)
The car performed ALOT better than I expected for an old engine and a questionable clutch haha. May end up starting a NA build thread... Thanks again, Andrew |
I felt the same way about my NA for a long time until I drove/drifted my buddies TII at a event. My NA dreams died around the first cone. Power everywhere!!!!!! (compared to the NA that is) Don't let the NA fool you, go turbo and don't look back, well, unless it's strictly a missle that is, then just let it rip with whatever you got. :)
|
keep it NA for missile status! they run forever!
TII the race car though for sure! power = fun. |
I'm going to rebuild it and finish out the rest of the year NA. Then possibly turbo or 20B next year :)
I will keep updating. I will also put my Haltech PS2000 and Racepak to good use. Any recommendations for rebuild/seal kits? Thanks, Andrew |
rotary aviation and rotary aviation only for seals.
also.. i would not waste time and money on 20b.. i went that route. its a pain in the ass and a huge and constant drain on the wallet. coupled with it not even being done yet, i would kill for a 13b na atm. |
I will keep that in mind...
|
You got any pictures of your car drifting?

Going LS1 :) Who wants to buy my Haltech Platinum Sport 2000?!!!
|
Why am I not surprised.
|
Because everyone likes a bandwagon?! haha
|
If I were to go with a piston engine, I'd at least go with a Ford 5.0 or Modular V8. The T-5/T-45/TKO(3550) that's behind Ford's engines is a bunch cheaper than a GM T-56 equivalent, and G-Force's gearsets are dirt cheap compared to the GM T-56.
I just can't justify an $800 engine being bolted to a $2k transmission, I'd rather spend more on 5.0 or modular longblocks and run with a near-bulletproof $500 trans. |
5.0=hole cut in hood
|
im actually thinking of going v8 after i blow the engine in my vert and the spare

+2 on the foil. Nice.
|
I bought the reflective foil through Pegasus for $29 for a 1X2', but now DEI has it for about $18 I think. Great stuff!
More to come! Thanks, Andrew |
