im gonna be picking up a t2 hood, how much do you guys think it'll help with cooling? im doing it for asthetics, but im sure it will also help with cooling the motor??

If you want to cool it down more, get a vented hood or cut vents in you hood after the fan shroud, more over the motor so that engine heat goes up and not the air from the fan.

Dude my T2 was damm near on fire with the hood off but it may have been like 105

dont our fans shut off at higher rpms?

I would say it spins faster because it's turned by the motor. But then angain maybe the fan only go so fast. I don't know:scratch:

It's a clutch fan. They free spin once a high enough engine speed and load is reached.

well im not doing it for cooling i was just proposing that it will only help, haha

Pressure differential.

Yep.

You want a good hood, buy a dmax or cut reverse vents.

my old hood was great at getting heat out. Kinda took the idea from the c5r. I could run all day with no problems

question as far as exhaust on na s4 is this okay?http://www.rx7.com/store/rx7/FC25racepipe.html heres description We also offer the Bönez Main Cat Race Pipe which replace just the main catalytic converter with a straight pipe. This unit makes it extremely easy to swap between the stock cat and racing pipe for extra HP for track events yet still remain legal for the street.

Note: Not legal for street use in some states. Racing use ONLY!

fuck the law just wanna know if this would help or hurt me?

does this unit have a place to connect the backe pressure piping to activate you 5/6 port? if not then your gonna be running balless, haha

haha, well on s4 rx7's the 5/6 ports open from back pressure from the exhaust that travels through a small tube from the 2nd cat (anyone please correct me if i am wrong) you can easily see it from the passenger side of your car if you look under it, and if the mid pipe section has a place to connect this pipe, your in bisiness.

lonetlan 01-11-10 10:47 PM

On an S4, yes the 5th and 6th ports open from backpressure in the pre-silencer of the exhaust. If one wants to have working ports, you can wire them open(get worse mpgs) or you can hook up your air pump to open them(involves work).

Yes?

If you have an s4 n/a your auxiliary ports won't open and you'll lose some top end power if you delete the main cat and the split air pipe. You can get a header with a pickup tube for the ports from racing beat if you are dead set on getting rid of them. It will also be very loud.

I think by purchasing this item you would also need to buy the presilencer as the end does not seem like it would bolt up to the stock flange.

i said that cuz fans are supposed to shut off a higher rpms basically around freeway speed rpm to conserve energy for better mileage.

NinjaGUYdan 01-12-10 12:22 PM

I meant to say if you do not have DTSS "eliminators" it will wear out quicker. Sorry I messed that up. And 240's are a completely different style subframe. FC's are nowhere near the same.

When I had a welded in my car it sounded like I had a front wheel drive with bad axles. Also, make sure you do something about rear camber correction if you slam the car. I pulled my car into a dusty floored shop and saw that my contact patch was only 2 inches on both sides!! And that was with FD wheels out back running 225's!!

drake87 01-12-10 01:25 PM

how much if any camber adjustment do you think i'll need for a 1" drop? i dont want to go lower then that because i have to frequently drive in the mountains on an unmaintained dirt road, haha

Turbo II Rotor 01-12-10 01:50 PM

Camber will probably be fine for spirited driving with only a 1" drop.
