hks seems to be the bandwagon coilover, never owned them though. that probably means they are good though
apexi seems to be a little more stiff the average coilover, or so ive heard

im a huge fan of Cusco's products. They arent that expensive and they are very streetable. (my drift car is my daily driver) they also have lasted longer then my JIC's, Tiens(2nd choice), GABs, and Kei Office coilovers.
bottom line they are good all around, and are available with alot of options. probably not the best if you want to scrape your frame rails on the ground though, I have mine maxed out low on the ride height and i could go lower and loosen the springs too, but i like where its at.

I friend of mine had some tein flex coilovers on his 8 and he swore they were the best coilovers he'd ever drift on, and he's been through quite a few different cars with varying setups. Now I know it's not an FD, but he's used them in a s13 240 with both turbo ka's and sr swaps, a gtu and a TII FC, his 8, and he just ordered a pair for his G35.
