Both FC and FD builds are sick. What hood are you putting on the FD? Or is there a reason for going hoodless?

 

Regardless, the domestic sound of that engine makes me throw up, total FAIL if it is fast or not.

ok guy i have been working on my fc for the last 2 weeks

cleaning inside of the car
welding all the cage up
making front cage bar plates
filling holes
making pass side seat rails
taking car apart
getting parts
and some other small fab


im painting the inside of the car tomorrow.

are you drilling new holes on the fire wall for the steering rack, and brake/clutch?

 

no im going to run the wilwood pedal assembly, and there is a hole for the steering

 

Is the cage formula d spec?

The reason I ask is because we are building a cage and the rear bars off the hoop are going to the strut tower...

I doubt were going FD but either way its cool to learn from others

 

The bars off the hoop cant connect to the bars connecting the struts


Thats from what I understand is FD legal... So whatever with that

when you did the dimple die on the ends - did you mark off where to cut the plate and leave it bigger to holesaw/do a full dimple die and then cut the excess off to have it rounded to meet the tubing?

i did a full dimple die on the ends then cut it in half, welded the steel to the cross bars then did all the other holes when it was welded together. bec of how many curves it had the dies make the steel super strong, it would of been super hard to fit with all the dimple dies in it before i welded
