Let's talk oiling setups!

Just like te title.. It's winter time in MI, therefore I have a good 4-5 months to pour money into my car. So what kind of setups are you guys using for oil?

Things like:

Oil cooling
Oil pressure regulators
Anyone doing the pellet mod?
Type of oil
Dual coolers.
Etc. etc..

Let's see 'Em!

What kind of car and what year is pretty important information as well.

I'm running the stock FD R1 setup and have had no problems since converting from the single cooler. It made a significant improvement in overall cooling and my oil lasts a lot longer.

Ive got an 88 TII

Haltech Sprint RE
3"turbo back exhaust

1600cc secondaries
Big front mount
running 12psi stock turbo. (more than likely converting to a TO4e this winter as well)

car is not driven often on the streets but it is street legal. I want to make around 340-370rwhp.

The stock FC oil cooler is pretty overbuilt from the factory. I wouldn't think you'd need to modify it to accommodate 400rwhp. What made you decide to upgrade your oiling system?

Pineapple pan, 3 window bearings, atkin's thermal pellet delete jaunt, stock turboII oil pump, Mobil DELVAC 15w40 dino-oil, one large oil cooler w/ stainless -10an lines. and i run it about a quart high.

i run that oil because its thick, and free from work.

stock pressure regulator (no shims or crushing)...i took my modded one out after seeing more than one road race guys engines and hearing their stories about how the excessive pressure at high revs damaged their oil control rings/orings...and once they went back to stock regulators, the problems went away.

seems to work well... when it blows up, we'll inspect it lol.

Boss! What's the OCI on a setup like that? Do the benefits of that much oil capacity really out-weigh the 30 or so pounds of extra oil weight you are carrying around?
