If I were the victims I would NOT talk about details of the theft on these or other forums. There is a very good chance the thief/thieves are only a few degrees of separation away and are reading this or other forums. While we would all like to know the who/when/where/how's of it all, for now it's best to keep as little public knowledge out there and let the police do their jobs.

Simply spreading the word that it happened is the best thing we can do to support them.

Posted it out here in MN/ND on a few websites... Hope you find it!!!

J.T.P. 01-19-11 01:11 PM

Does anyone have any further details on the theft itself.

Is the truck always hooked to the trailer with the FC in it or was this a one time thing?

truck was parked at a friends house.. was parked there once before but not a common thing

Was there an alarm on the truck?

yes, factory alarm... honks the horn and flashes lights if it's opened without the remote

Was glass broken on the truck to gain access?

no glass broken

If it was a one time thing how many people knew about it?

only 1 person knew it was parked there...

These details can help determine the origins and caliber of the thief.

Also see if you can get the police to look at traffic cameras in the area. A big white truck and a big white trailer driving around at night would be noticeable.

i filed a police report already.. hopefully something turns up.

So shitty. I'm on the lookout here in NM. I'll be posting this on my facebook too.

barnett87rx7 01-19-11 01:45 PM

hey does the truck have on star being a 2004? even if you dont have it activated they can find it.

J.T.P. 01-19-11 01:48 PM

no on star...

Daviticus 01-19-11 02:19 PM

I'm still sticking by my thought that its' someone who has or had access to a key at one point and time. I've had to crack open way too many of these trucks at the auto auction back in the day, and if you didn't have a key it wasn't moving under its' own power]. I've personally been able to get into one and have the key in the ignition just after the first honk of the alarm - turning the ignition to RUN twice silences it and resumes normal operation.

GM Theftlock security is entirely too passive.

Posted on some Houston drift forums. GL!

I tend to agree. This seems like the luckiest thief ever "Oh a happened to get into a truck with an alarm that happened to have a trailer that happened to have a racecar in it."

I also believe Cody Parkhouse's car was stolen in this same way (in the same neighborhood? not from cali not familiar enough). Might be a trend.

Didn't you also have a motorcycle stolen not too long ago?? Know anyone who knows anyone who needs money bad??

gnx7 01-19-11 02:47 PM

Lojack or similar would've stopped the thieves cold in their tracks. Hope you guys recover the vehicles/trailer intact.

Doesn't that truck have On Star and they can tell you where it was driven to? Whoops.... just read it didn't.

4WDrift 01-19-11 02:49 PM

will post it up but i am on the wrong coast. sorry man hope that you get it back in decent order

13x 01-19-11 02:56 PM

good luck in the hunt, there is always the chance the POS that stole it had no idea what was in the trailer.

the alert is out here locally thanks to a couple of guys that were up early

RXILVER7 01-19-11 03:01 PM

^^ If they didn't know they had a race-car back there then it will scare them and they will dump it somewhere out of the way. If they were prepared to steal a race-car then they will try and part it. I suppose that gets into the query of who would be qualified to part a race-car? Especially one with such a rare base. Plenty of guys can have a nissan or chevy apart in a couple hours, but I think we all know how much of a bitch rx7s can be.

My truck has the onstar thing in it but I don't pay for the service and they can still track it, might be worth a shot?

Unless it's a cab & chassis, Ambulance-rated frame, or a base model [not LS or LT], then it will have the OnStar system present and buttons on the dash. In '04, less than 40% of these trucks sold were LS' or LTs.

Ka Kui 01-19-11 03:05 PM

Man........... this sucks......... hate to see this happen to anyone.......... hope you can find it back later on......

mothdawg 01-19-11 03:30 PM

Hey Justin...this car had quite a few parts on it that are only made by your shop right? If the thief plans on parting it he might not be aware of this and we might be able to find someone posting one of your parts or something...just a thought

MXRXRicky 01-19-11 04:26 PM

It someone get away with this that will be ridiculous. This is too well know of a car for someone not to recognize.

Tyler [S5 FC] 01-19-11 04:27 PM

This is the worst news! Doubt they'll drive it here but if they do, I'll KILL EM!!!

wankelmeoff 01-19-11 04:43 PM

Dcashdollar 01-19-11 06:12 PM

Someone has some balls to roll off in that.. especially with the trailer attached! Hope all is found in good condition. That FC looks like it took some serious time.
