I've been lurking on this forum for a long time but decided to finally start posting. I already know a few guys in the community but I typically have stayed to smaller forums. So here goes.

I drive an FC. It's low. Has a V8. And I do a lot of smashing.

The story begins 4 years ago when I got tired of drifting 240's and wanted to get an FC. So I got rid of my old crappy 240 and got an FC!

Attachment 717499

Original plan was to put an SR in it and keep it mild.

That lasted all of about 12 minutes.

First up, gut the car and build a chassis dolly.

2nd, test fit S14 dash(stock FC one looks like it came from an IROC camaro).

Then started running XDC 2010. Went to irwindale and did this. Bent the chassis but kept drifting anyway.

http://www.wreckedmagazine.com/galle...l_img_1271.jpg

Got 3rd place. Blew the steering rack in friday practice and tried to fix it with the help of JTP. Unfortunately the pump also blew. Ended up drifting Irwindale with no power steering. SCARY!

I was still scraping walls tho.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2..._6950972_o.jpg

Then went to XDC Phx. Ended up winning the event after a final battle with Alex Pfieffer!

http://www.wreckedmagazine.com/galle...phoenix146.jpg

Then I bought something I've ALWAYS wanted.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...y/IMG_7089.jpg

sil8ty 11-04-11 06:11 PM

Shortly after headed up to XDC seattle. Blew up my clutch and missed all of practice. Ended up getting taken out by Walker Wilkerson.

http://www.importmeet.com/wp-content...dc_2011_45.jpg

http://vimeo.com/27888265

Still had enough points to win XDC West Coast Championship.

Somewhere in there I also did the Vegas Pro-Am and got 1st in that series which gives me my FD license for 2012.

Which brings us to 2 months ago and XDC Finals in TX.

Car felt amazing in friday practice.

Then saturday the motor decided to hate the rod bearings and ate them up.

I qualified with another locals car(Aaron Losey) and was set to do top 16 when his alternator crapped out. 2 separate cars I had towed off the track that weekend. Ended up in 2nd place behind Chelsea Denofa. I was 1st in points going into TX but you have to actually drive the event to keep the lead. Sadly my car didn't want to play along so I got 2nd. It was super fun tho and I love drifting with the XDC dudes wholeheartedly.

Which brings us to now. I have a non-sunroof 86 base model that is going to become the new 2012 FD car. Hopefully I can have some fun in FD. Thanks for taking the time to read my ramblings!

George

That is rad that Aaron let you borrow his car for the event. He puts on all the Texas drift events and is one of the nicest people you will ever meet.

Hi ilia!

So some people have been asking me what the cars setup is so I'll list it out here.

Anywhere you see "custom" means I made it myself. haha

i heard you were going to raise your car and get hella front poke on the new setup? I heard this is how you make RX-7's good.

Digi7ech 11-15-11 02:43 PM

He's taking queues from my FC :P

Hella-sunken rear wheels and stock angle

Josh18_2k 11-16-11 05:17 PM

you have more pics of your front end? radiator placement, light mounting, etc.

rxsevnn 11-21-11 10:23 PM

love the cage work. how thick are the mounting box plates and gussets?

sil8ty 11-22-11 01:02 PM

i'll dig up some pics of the front end.

it's time to finally start working on this thing again and get it ready for next year. i ended up getting a new chassis to replace the old one since it's seen too much abuse. i picked up a 1986 base model WITHOUT sunroof! It has 67k original miles and looks like it drove out of a 1986 dealer showroom.

interior pics. if anyone wants ANYTHING from the interior hit me up. I won't be reusing any of it. it's all pretty much perfect. seats had seat covers and so did the steering wheel.
https://farm7.staticflickr.com/6117/...21d92121_z.jpg
https://farm7.staticflickr.com/6108/...a3503fc5_z.jpg

In the meantime I've been tearing down my old car.

https://farm7.staticflickr.com/6104/...1056138a_z.jpg
https://farm7.staticflickr.com/6033/...16e9fa31_z.jpg

So far i've removed most of the engine stuffs and the rear subframe.

I'll be doing a lot more work to the new chassis.

dual calipers, 1900mm GT wing, evo brembos(with dual rears), shaved engine bay, wilwood or tilton pedal assembly, custom flca for lots more angle, and possibly a fuel cell of sorts.

I fc3SLIDE 11-22-11 01:56 PM

should be sick when its all finished you keeping it blue?

Elevens 11-22-11 04:52 PM

joined so i could say fuck yeah! next year will be fun, we had a great time helping with the car this season. Oxygen Blue for life! i like that color still we should keep it going

Zenki FC3S 11-22-11 11:57 PM

george hit me up with those dual calipers... i needz!!!!

RXILVER7 11-26-11 04:21 PM

Do you have any mods to counteract fuel starvation at speed? I know people usually use surge tanks, but I didn't see anything in your setup list.

Nothing for fuel stuff. Just a walbro in the stock tank. I have gotten slosh before if the tank is low, so I just make sure to keep it topped off. Thought about getting a small fuel cell for next year but we'll see how funds go.

roll cage base plates were .095" thick IIRC. It was bigger than whatever the Formula D rules say it has to be. Hahah.

Motor is finally out. A few more things to take out from the interior and it'll be going to the new owner. SOOOOO nice having a removable core support. Motor took 30 minutes to take out. And half that time was spent figuring out what song to play while pulling the motor.

Also got me an upgrayedd. Evo Brembos. Extra pair for the rear on the dual caliper setup. Now to order that Wilwood pedal setup and delete the brake booster/master cylinder uglies.

to run the evo rotors you need brackets to raise the caliper higher.
