fuel pump for s4 running ls6. surge issues?
need to buy a pump for my s4 rx7 with stock tank, running ls6 ~450hp, car isn't running yet. do you guys that do alot of drifting (proper drifting, not some punk as little slide here and there) have any problem with fuel surge using the factory tank?
pumps i'm looking at are sard 255lph or walbro 255lph. sard is more expensive, but i've had a few walbros crap out on previous cars.
Or, do i get bosch044 either inline or intank?
OR, do i need to run a swirl pot/surge tank setup?

BUT
i would like to know if i can get away with just putting a walbro etc in the tank, like is the factory baffling good enough for elevation changes if the tank has decent fuel in it.
i really don't want to have a big box in the rear with fuel stuff in it, i'd like to put spare wheels in there

We`ve built a few ls powered drift cars in the past and have tried alot of different fuel options. The easiest/cheapest is a 255 intank walbro. We have that in a turbo ls1 nissan running .5bar boost. I had a 044 as feed and a a1000 as boost but i had some issues so now im running a 044 inline only in my ls1 turbo rx7. Works perfect but i got a fuelcell.
I would go for the 255 walbro intank if i was about to build one now. I actually got that in my R32 Skyline with LS1 and rear turbo. Not tested but i know it`ll work.
Its nice to not have to build a firewall!
BTW, Nice FC! POst some pictures when you got it sideways

The Denso pump for a TT Supra is more reliable and has better flow then a Walbro, but I know plenty of guys with built LSX engines that run a Walbro 255lph.
I was suprised to learn that, the fuel pump is going out on my LQ4 and all the guys I talked to are running the same damn Walbro I've had in my Fc for years.

My car has no surge tank, and it starts sucking air below 3/4 tank. I would suggest running one. I just bring cans of fuel to the track though.
edit: My car is also a proper drift car, and an FC.

i run a cosmo fuel pump (20b) and its badass.
but
a1000 fuel cell and surge tank. Its about volume of fuel. You run -8 to the rails. more money but better fuel delivery.
prolly wont need that for a LSx but that much power outta a rotary and stock fuel lines are no bueno
