that, to me, looks dangerous. you can tell there's not much heat in the weld due to the lack of color into the pieces being welded.

I think you're probably right. Thats the R-W one from Jeff Jones' old car. But is there another reason that you re-weld thetie rod pickup on the same plane instead of stepping down?

I guess my reasoning when I decided to try the step was because I thought it gave me more available weld area. I'm not sure if I've potentially hurt the performance of the knuckle by changing the pickup plane.

i like using the taper rod and spacers to adjust bump steer, I also make some adjustment to the pick up point for this as well.. just dropping it down and using what angle is there I don't feel is the best solution. also unless you grind all the edges down to a V and build the weld you're not going to get very good penetration....

I wish I had some pics from when I was making them. I didn't grind them to a full v. Basically because I had the two pieces clamped together so a v would not have been too conducive to that. I ground them like this:

have tried looking into rack spacers and outer tie rod kits. the only thing that comes up for the tie rods is a set of megans that are not reccomended, and as far as rack spacers im kind of clueless. Any help? im gonna try and put these spindles on this week regardless
