I think I'll be ready just in time. My car will take a couple events to dial in I think. A whole lot on this thing needs to be tested. I'll post up some new pics soon. I'd love to hear my V8 banging alongside your spinning rotors. That shit will be hot.
|
Just starting to read this thread but from the first two pages this looks like an awesome build. Almost exactly what I want to do, I feel like a V8 swapped FC is the way to go. Once I have some extra cash...

Thats so weird. I had an update in my email that Lovely Idol posted here, but now there's no new post and his past posts are gone too.

I'm pretty sure that dude got smeared off this website or something... Drama. |
Go for the satin blue! I was sooo close painting my LS FC in that color but ended up with a green flake metallic thing. flat blue, green or red is nice!
GOod to se more people using a unbeatable engine in a great car! It makes sence =) |
Just a Micro update. I fitted the body panels in front after I painted them just to triple check fitment. The car is going to be white this year. I'm not the biggest white fan but a friend talked me into it.
http://evanfitch.com/images/lookingood.jpg I also installed some lower power steering lines. I'm pretty pumped up on having power steering this year. It should be cool. http://evanfitch.com/images/pslines.jpg |
power on man.

That transmission crossmember doesn't look very sturdy.
|
It's taken off of one of Pez's designs.
https://i721.photobucket.com/albums/...urray/0031.jpg 1/4 steel. The welds aren't just sitting on top either. I just added all that extra wire on top for the hell of it. It's not pretty but it is strong. |
not strong???
smokin crack holmes |

|

^^ Nice
I installed some S-Max cans. Oil catch can and coolant reservoir. I need to do some coolant line routing for overflow and the coolant crossover. http://evanfitch.com/images/radhoses.jpg I also routed the factory RX7 throttle cable to work, but I don't like it. It might be the throttle body, but the pedal seems like it's much harder to press down than stock. I guess before it's ready to rumble I need to.... Make an intake system Get drive shaft worked with new slip yoke and rear flange Fabricate exhaust Mount ECU Do all the wiring Build a firewall for the fuel system Fluids obviously Interior stuff like mount my seat and harnesses I am caging the car, but probably not before the first couple events. The good news is it's already stripped and the dashboard goes in and out easily so doing a cage will only take a few days. |
ok been a minute since any updates

Holyshit coming deep from left field for the win!!!
Really surprised me! Now put a damn diffuser under the rear of the BN |
Awesome build man! 2xKudos!
I love the wing and that rediculous turning radius! lol So, on the real, If you would like those Mounts made in CF. I'll be happy to have my master molder make them for you in exchange for that hella rediculous turning radius equipment!! Just PM me if you're down. you just have to send me one of the stands and the mounting bracket that goes with it. I will have my moulder whip it up in about 3-4 weeks (lol he does have regular work to do as well). Oh yeah, Love the color and storm trooper on the hood = epic!!! |
Holy shit this is awesome!

It was good meeting you yesterday (I'm the dude with the green FC). Car looks great tearing up Etown!
|
yeah man. You were tearing it up dude. I suck at driving my car. I did better when it was a rotary with stock knuckles haha

Why did you widebody the car and space the wheels? The fit very nicely on a stock body without spacers... Couldn't find non-wide 'glass fronts?
|
oh and moar low.

I might go lower. Not sure. I just blew my transmission the other day so I have that on my mind. Pretty weird actually. I was just pulling my car back into the shop and in 1st gear at about 1200rpm the car just screeched to a halt and shut off. Now it wont turn back on unless I press the clutch down (that switch was eliminated a long time ago, this is a mechanical thing). I also can't grab any gear. It sucks. I had to take out the driveshaft just so we could push it. |
Sorry to hear about the trans, but once you start dialing that thing in more, post up some vids.
Super impressed with this entire build |

Well there are a couple reasons. First is that those wheels and tires don't fit in the stock body even with a roll and pull.
https://www.rx7club.com/build-thread...-960204/page3/ scroll to post 53. Your other reasons are still valid. I can't imagine you'd get enough traction with such relatively narrow tires. |
Thinking about switching from BN sports knock-off to GP sports knockoff for next year
https://imagehost.vendio.com/a/13179..._front_new.JPG Any opinions? |

Sorry I ran over your front bumper at Englishtown!
Are you heading to Lime Rock tomorrow? Nah I'm not making it up there I have too much shop work to do. Not to mention I haven't fixed my car yet and I hate going to events and not driving. |
Would have been as easy to swap in LS7

Been messing with my angle. I had about 54* in the car with my old knuckle mod.
The new mod has about 70* in the air and on the ground (video of it turning soon) I still need to make some bump stops. I'll have 65-68* usable when it's all said and done. I still need to make improvements to the ackerman, but it's a work in prgress. |
|
Send me your old ones!
|
Maybe, haha. They are the blue ones on the ground in this pic.
