Maybe a stupid question ... Why are you keeping your ABS ?

I really like the flashy rims on black dress

Hey, can you tell us a bit more about this story of unburnt fuel = detonation ?

I think it's happened to my engine but I can't explain this, it's all about what I felt when the engine lost an apex seal without any load.

The tone of the engine changed. It sounded like it had cams in it. The compression fell to about 60psi. I still ran 2 more events with the engine the way it was. I felt no real power loss, but the idle suffered alot.

So the just rebuilt engine has a tone of smoke pouring out the exhaust. I tried fixing the port work and i guess i make it worse. Now i have to order another gasket kit and rebuild this motor for the 4th time. I also have another set of housing in my garage that Im debating whether to have them lapped or just throw them back in.

Biggest pain in my ***. I have about 2k miles of driving time owning this car for 2 years.. The current housings are pretty much shoot.

You can see how the port would be cutting into the oil control ring area.. I bought the pineapple racing street port template and it was abvious that the previous guy who built my engine ported the inside part of the port.

Yeah man... you can't really come back once the ports are fucked up... If you already have the pineapple templates, then you should be good... general rule for turbo application porting, is to clean out the casting, and extend a few degrees of port timing, but most of your power is going to come from your turbo setup and tuning...

The stock ports are there for a reason... but there definitely is room for gains with a little rotary grinding time.

Def. don't want to cut in on the port towards the center of the iron(as you have found) as there's not much room before the OCR's become an issue...

Good luck dude...

easy..... rebuild it for the 4th time and rock on. Its a $200 dollard fix. I will buy the gaskets from pineapple and take it to ray at PFsupercars for a tune in november. All I need is 2 days to break it down and put it back together.

No pro, but its a must to know how to do this on your own or you will go insanely broke. The plan right now is to get it ready for EAST COAST BASH!!!!!

Update:

I let the car run for about an hour RPM's ranging from 800-2000. THe smoke has seemed to go away. I still need a tune to be able to take it out on the road.

I decided today that the engine is coming back out. The engine runs and idles perfect, but its burning way too much oil. Due to the bad port work oil is seeping into the combustion chamber passed the oil control rings.

The port in question. All the other ports are just *** bad.

This was a few months ago when I tried to fix things!!!!!!!!!!!!!

the old port vs. the new port.

How it sits!!!! eewww

The garage.

Not the best quality video but you get the idea. It runs and sounds super loud. It seems the new housing and my new port job did the trick. It has only been running for about 4 minutes in these video. Its burning all the oil i packed it with.

So its been running for about 2 weeks now and the smoke is still there. minimal but it is still there. Looks like im running about 75psi of oil pressure when im reving it up. Could that send too much pressure to the turbo and letting it get passed the turbo seals. Im running a -4 inlet line and a -10 return. The turbo is a brand new borg warner s362 with no restrictor.

i would probably try a restrictor before pulling the motor apart yet again.. work your way gradually smaller with the oil jet size until it disappears and leave it be.

this is why oil pressure upgrades are a bad idea, i hate that these shitball shops try to upsell them to people without telling them what they need to do to bypass the other issues associated with raising oil pressure in turbo applications.
