Started a new RX7 project, kinda had enough of crazy overbuilt drift cars. Figured I'd put this thread around to have a place to compile stupid questions.

Heres my old car from wayyy back.


Then I built this RWD subaru drift car thing, pretty well a gigantic waste of everyones time, and wayy to much car now that I don't have pie in the sky pro drifter dreams.


Sold that thing recently, should see bits of it come up in about four or five RWD STi's I've helped with parts for.

So I bought/traded/*******'d into this thing, 1988 10th AE


KAAZ diff, man I forgot how bad KAAZ's are.
OSG Single clutch
Regamasters 17x9/17x10
solid motor mounts
solid diff mounts
Stance Coilovers
Straight Pipe I fabbed for the old owner.

So its pretty rad, but I'm moving and might not have my own shop for a while so I wanted to get some stuff done.


20mm Overs and start of a PTE 750hp front mount.


Full interior 1.75 Roll cage, good for pretty much anything I'll ever care about.


Stock rails with 6an fittings and ID1000s, full AN fuel system with Bosch 044 intank


GT3582R, .84 on a greddy manifold and Tial MVR.

3in Straight Pipe, this pic is from when I made it for the customer I bought it from.


Hoping to have the Titanium dump tube built later this week, the PFC wired in and the AIMsports installed before it goes to be tuned before the drift event next weekend.

Probably could go in the street car builds section. but next week I'll tape down the ebrake button and do a write up about that I guess.

have no idea about most of the car, find new mods every time I touch something.

didn't even know it was a street port 3mm seal motor when I bought it.

 

Fml i sold a set of turbo mirrors to a guy named ross waller who was painting his fc white lol my bad for the mix up man!

 

Not gonna lie im nerdy as hell for those tinted windows...thats the best part about a 10ae

Got the aimsports in, interior is mostly back in and fitted. gotta replace some of the stock crap plastics that broke.



Regas back from powdercoat, turned out way darker than I thought, looks ok outside in the sun though, they lighten up a lot in sunlight.



gotta go get my second Argon filled so I can do that Ti dump tube later today.


Car is going to Steve Kan friday to be tuned and if it doesn't blow up I'll be drifting Saturday for a bit.

 

This is exactly how I want my cage done. Full dash and interior. I love it.

Baseplates welded into this car super easy. And it fit up pretty easy too, some cars can be pretty weird

Hooker Harnesses, anyone that tells you Team Tech is the best hasn't seen these, so much higher quality, comes from the stunt/race plane and monster truck world.




Super quick and dirty panel to try and keep some air from dumping under the car before the radiator. probably close in the sides eventually when I'm bored.

 

what happen to this dude? i sent him a payment for an oil cooler now he is out?????

 

car was already ruined before he got it.....

 

he blew up and is putting honda stuff in. or something.

 

He emailed me back about the oil cooler. So hopefully he comes through
