Rocker dent..

previous owner did this, when it was sold the dealership painted right over it instead of pulling it...

Question is, do you think its possible to pull? or should i just buy a new panel

A new rocker panel is probably out of your budget. You have to buy the entire rear quarter panel and door framing along with the rocker. It could be pulled and tapped back in to shape, but the problem is that it looks like you have rust damage.

I would try to find a junk yard that has one they can cut out. Take it to your body shop and they can cut the old one out and weld a new one in place fairly easily.

Its actually just surface rust, the metals solid still. I'm going to take a wire wheel to it and clean all the crap off and put some rust inhibitor over it for the time.

Thanks for the reply though, i'll start checking for decent body shops around here (they are rare )

If you can get all the rust removed and get nice shiny metal that is pretty solid then you might have pretty good luck pulling the panel back in to shape.

the only problem with pulling it willbe that rocker panels and tough to pull straight enough, i also would look to find a new rocker or good used either way and go from there. If you have to pull it then try and see how it goes sometimes they come out good and other times it a giant pain. Try to find a body shop and see what they say, but make sure they have a collision expert because body work and collision repair are NOT the same thing! where abouts in NY are you i work for a body shop and have others and can do it on the side at my personal shop.

PM me and let me know where ur from in NY and we can go from there and hopefully set ya up with someone that does good work!
