restoring a S4

this is been a long awaited day for me to start restoring my 87 rx7 turbo ii, there are some issues with this car i believe, i think that it sounds like its miss firing and im not sure as to what this is caused by if you can help me out id like to know what is wrong if anyone knows, also i am planning on dropping in a front mount intercooler to this car with a s5 turbo swap, im trying to achieve 300 ish horsepower off this swap with out pushing the turbo to far and not hurting the engine, i am hoping this is not a far fetched dream i need to know more about what i have to do in order to do this restoring project. please id like to know more about what im getting into here. thank you also what kinda Fuel Cut defender do i need and ecu upgrade, im pretty new to the whole world of car restoring, i could sure use some help.

I guess the reason nobody is responding is because you're in the wrong section :/ try posting in the technical sections, you'll get much better responses there.
