Reattaching hood support

I'm currently working on restoring a '79 Rx7. This car has been in the family since new and I'm trying to keep as much of the original gear as possible.
Over the years the the hood support has become separated from the hood itself, all of the welds have broken loose and the epoxy over time has come off.
What kind of epoxy should I use to reattach the hood?
I have looked around on the internet and I couldn't find anyone in my situation trying to accomplish a similar goal.
Everyone I have asked in person has told me to go find a new hood due to a couple small rust spots.

Any information would greatly help me.

I'm soda blasting it down to remove rust, and to start a new.
I don't have a picture of the current state of the hood. If requested I can upload a picture tomorrow.

Have you reattached a hood support like this before using this adhesive?
What would be the best way to apply the adhesive to the underside of the support?

Thank you

i wouldn't use panel bond as it has zero flex. use a urethane seam sealer it will reattach the skin and will flex instead of cracking

How long will the sealer last with the heat from the engine?
This sounds like a better option over the panal bond but at the same time it doesn't sound like ti will last.

Does anybody know what was originally used to attach the hood? Just out of curiousity.

its a newer and better version of what is used to seal all the seams in the engine bay so i think it will be fine.
