how do i restore painted interior?

ok so as a few of you may know i recently bought a 93 FD. well some of what i didn't show was the painted interior. the rear storage area behind the seats and mostly all other panels were painted. i can see where it was scratched in some spots tho and the original "tan-ish" color is showing through. i can tell that it doesn't have many coats. it's just a coat or two of black semi-gloss it seems. however, the dash above the gauges, door pulls, center console, and a few other parts are all painted a gloss black and it looks to be thicker than the other parts.

i was wondering how i can return all these pieces to the original color. i've had a few ideas like pressure washing, scrubbing with mineral spirits, or using stronger paint remover. i've used aircraft paint remover but, only on metal. i'm thinking that may be alittle too harsh on the plastic but, i know it certainly works. i don't wanna sandblast the parts because i think it'll probably ruin the finish. is there anyway i can remove the paint without scratching the panels too much or at all? also, is there a way to remove scratches?

another thing that was done was the floor mats were colored. i'm not sure if the previous owner used dye or what. i kinda wanna try and take them to a laundry mat and throw in some color safe bleach to see how they clean up but, i was thinking if they didn't come as clean as i want maybe i'll try and re-dye them black to a uniform color....hopefully anyway.

i haven't looked at the carpet really. there's some type of cloth material covering the carpet. i can see around the edges that the carpet is the original tan color tho. hopefully it hasn't been touched and i can clean it if dirty.

anyway, can anyone give me some advice on restoring the parts to their original state? the replacement pieces would cost a good bit.

Saw this on another thread, for removing paint from plastic taillights; might be worth a shot:

Model Tools - Model Accessories - Testors » ELO Paint & Decal Remover 8oz.

Soak the parts in brake fluid. Sounds dumb but it works perfectly.
