Du Pont

Holy Crap!! Du Pont came out with a new Teflon wax that is unreal. I bought it at advance auto parts for like $10.99, and it is the best wax I think I have ever used. You cant let it sit long though, or its hard to take off. I put 2 coats of this on my FD, and my car lookes wet, and it puts like a glove of protection on the paint. I am a chronic car wax buyer, and this stuff is sweet. Its called Du Pont Teflon car wax I think. Do your car a favor, and grab some.

Thanks for the suggestion! Is it easy to use and how long did it take you?

It is very easy to use. just use a slightly damp wax pad to apply, and a clean microfiber towel to remove. I did two coats in about 2 hrs, but I was taken my good old time. No need to rush my quality time. I really recommend this stuff for any car.. It is seriously Money!!

I saw the commercial for that and was interested in it. How do you think those other teflon products work? the soap, the tire shine stuff? Might go out and pick up a kit or something if it's really that good.

i got some dupont wax today. it looks good but, damn it was hard to get off. I got it all off and it was greasy or something so i had to go over it with some detailing spray and now its fine.

It is a wax that you want to do a panel at a time, and don't let it sit to long. It does leave it a bit greasy, but if you just take your time with a microfiber it looks sick.

FYI:

http://forums.roadfly.org/forums/det...6593788-1.html

"The maker of Teflon (Dupont Chemicals) has issued the following statement: 'The addition of a Teflon fluoropolymer resin does nothing to enhance the properties of a car wax. We have no data that indicates the use of Teflon is beneficial in car waxes.'"

If you want something that will last for a while, use Meguiars "Deep Crystal", not the NXT stuff. The NXT stuff is good for the "once a month" type waxing. The Deep Crystal is good for the "Once/Twice a year" waxing.

It also all depends on how much you drive as well. IMO, you should claybar the car before waxing it. It makes the wax stay much longer. Using Deep Crystal on my wife's Audi (which is daily driven) after claybar, it typically last for about 7-8 months.

yeah i heard about the claybar..well truth is that im trying to get rid of the swirls off my car..im looking for the best cleaner wax? or something thats like a cleaner wax, then the swirl remover, then the final wax..

with all these different types and brands, its hard to do what first and how often and which one..

lately i just been washing my car, then using mothers..then another day ill wash the car and use a different wax like meguiars just to compare..and although mothers shines more, it doesnt help eliminate swirls marks like my meguiars been doing..

i have soo many waxes and they just dont work the way i want it to work..and i dont want to throw them away so ill just use them til it runs out..idk

Are you using the Deep Crystal from Meguiars?

I've always had good results with Meguiars on red cars. The dark cars seem to like Zaino better.

no, im using something called scatch X or something from meg. i bought this cause i wanted something to eliminate/prevent swirls which this has helped me but very little..i tried looking it up on their site and its not even there.

but i did see the deep crystal you are talking about, that just looks like something for the finishing touch. you would have to use alternate waxes prior to this one to get the best out of your paint..

Nope, no need. It's part of their 3-Step Kits (wash, claybar, wax=Deep Crystal).
