hey, I just wanted to keep the pic thread to pics and quick questions. so i've cleaned it up and moved some posts here.
Phil's wife has already told him there will be a DGRR '10...
I will be making it for the 4th time and definitely staying out there the whole weekend for my 2nd time next year!

maybe i'll see about getting a cabin for the piston-7s!!! and we can be shunned by everyone else!!! and so they only have one place to go to complain about our bastardized cars!
LOL. I think its fun, friendly rivalry. HP and performance is HP and performance. So many different ways to get there and certainly none of us corner the market on that.
LOL. Yeah, its nice having more torque than most have hp. BUT I have to admit that when my FD was running smooth, that twin turbo response was heaven. It was refined and predictable.
I venture that I will eventually own a rotary again. I still love it, but for now I'll enjoy the gm version. I look forward to meeting everyone at the next meet, or even at zoom fest.

Well, on topic I tried to come come this year and that didn't work. Hopefully next year I'll make it.
Now to the fun part...hehehe.
You know Eddie, the only problem with the V8 swaps that once GM goes belly up it's going to be really hard to get parts for them...good thing they last a little while longer.
Well at least I know Mazda will still be making parts (and cars) for a while still.
On a side note, a small "I told you so" that you would miss your first 7 dearly, and glad to see you are enjoying one again (albeit with the wrong engine).
But when you can't get those piston parts anymore I'm sure there will be plenty of hands to help put the right engine back in.

Now back on topic:
How fast are people going in the curves? Seems like a tight caravan in some of those pics. How did brakes hold up going downhill through all of that?
the dragon is a little too publicized and patrolled by the cops to get a "fast run" in very often. you can get one every now and then but at risk of flying up on other cars/bikes or a cop sitting just around a blind curve.
a lot of the time you are stuck behind someone who isn't going nearly as quick as you would like...for a variety of reasons...
