My '84 FB was fine on the way down, had a bad moment where the oil pressure seemed to be low, but checked it and it was fine, and the pressure came right back up. Did have a funny thing with a high pitched hummin sound coming from the tank when I got into Balsam (3500 feet above sea level) even with the engine shut off, but when I opened up the gas tank there was a whooshing sound, and the humming sound went away (never came back again). I had last filled it in Tennesee, at what was a lower elevation. So there may be venting issues with my tank. Finally, my wiper linkage or motor crapped out in Indianapolis and I didn't have the right size socket to remove it. Eventually made my way home and I'll tear it apart this week. Not a bad repair, just didn't have all the tools I needed with me to fix it. But I am definitely going back next year!

Okay
Monday before DGRR, i lost a headlight lens in traffic at lunch time. Afte nine months attached to the car with 3M Urethane. It comes unglued and flies off in the interstate. So i borrorwed one of JEROME's old RE Lens that's a just a shade pinker than the other one.
Anyways the main part of the thread is that I had filled up the night before On the way up to DGRR, i pulled in for gas in Gainesville over 300 miles away and realize i left my wallet at home.
Fortunately Bank of America was open and they had my Check Card Profile on hand to verify who i was and issue me a new card. Woah!

Here is my crappy road trip story..
I told myself that this year, I'm going to enjoy the road (Hence Friday Morning Drive).
I spent the past 2 weeks before DGRR 2011 prepping my MB FD (even took 2 x 1/2 days off from work). I finally got all the bugs worked out and the car is now starting and running great!
Wednesday night.. the tornado day here in Alabama, I started to feel sick.. I had to leave work early to pick up my kid from the daycare and after picking him up, I felt even worse.
Next day, Big John came to pick up the DGRR goodies from my house, I just felt like butt! I was so weak that I could barely stand up.. So, I left my car and rode in the truck... trying to sleep... trying to lay down in the back... From 8AM til 6PM EST, I was completely miserable.. Worst trip to DGRR in past 7 years!! I thought last year was bad when I drove over night in my daily TL.. This was the worst.
