Permission to use the Fontana Dam Waterway granted!
I just got the Letter Of No Objection from the TVA for us to use the tailwater area below Fontana Dam for our meet this year. It's a great spot and we'll have no problem fitting everyone in along the waterway. We'll be using the grassy area between the road and the waterway to park everyone. We'll have directions to the area on here later, and there will be signs posted along the way to get everyone there on Saturday morning.
We need to thank the TVA and Debra Rutherford, who is the Land Use Representative for the Little Tennessee Watershed Team, with whom I worked with over the past couple of months for her help and their permission to use this area. They ask that we keep the access corridor open and that no one parks in the "teardrop" parking area at the end of the road. They also require that we restore the area to it's original condtion (do as little damage to the grass as possible) and remove any trash, litter or debris after the event.
