My RX2 Made it home under its own power

Thanks to the help of many rotorheads a clutch party was held Sunday morning in the General Store Parking lot. Geoff and I left at 8 for Bryson City to pick up the new clutch. We we got back at ~11, Billy and Mike had most of the peripherals off. By 12:30 the Car make a lap around the village under its own power.

The clutch disk that was in the car vaporized at the top of HellBender. Thanks to all who helped me push it off the road, and for Shannon for running me up during the Banquat to meet the Tow Driver.

BTW: Anybody get a pic of the smoke cloud when the clutch let go?

Jon, so glad you had help and it went together fast. It is always amazing the way rotorheads always come to the rescue. I know you have paid it forward for many others in the past. It nice to hear it came back around for you.

No, but when I saw it, I thought it had caught fire. Lots of dark smoke under the car. This is the guy with the red Miata BTW.

Glad to hear it John. I realized later on saturday afternoon that my phone was totally dead anyway and I don't have a car charger for it. I wondered if you'd called or needed anything.

27 minutes at a rally back in the day. That was with two guys up top and two guy down under though.

I think it went well. I meant to call last night to make sure you made it but when I got home I crashed

John, I saw your car on the side of the road, and wondered what happened to it. Glad to hear it was 'just the clutch' and that you were able to drive it home!

Glad to know you made it home. Anyone know if the 3rd Gen made it home. Sunday afternoon they were still working on it @ the second entrance "Fontana Village" blue rx7. Hope they too made it home.
