Collecting Donations to fight Lou Gehrig's Disease (ALS).
This year's DGRR 2007, I'll be collecting money to donate to Lou Gehrig's Disease or also known as Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) related foundations in memory of Mark White.
Mark passed away of complications related to Lou Gehrig's Disease in Jan. 21st, 2007.
Mark was a wonderful guy and knowledgeable rotorhead. When I first decided to organize this event, I had spoken to Mark several occations to brainstorm about this event. I know he wanted to attend DGRR for past couple of years but couldn't because of his health condition.
This year, I am dedicating this event to Mark White and will be collecting donation to fight this awful disease, Lou Gehrig's Disease (ALS). Please donate what you can at the event.. Once all the money is collected, I will announce the total and donated to one of many ALS research related foundations. As someone works in medical related research facility, I know how this money will be spend and especially during this time when NIH funding is hard to come by due to funds are being diverged to the war.
If you don't know what Lou Gehrig's Disease is, please go learn more about it through these websites below...

We have been fairly busy today in hunting for answers to issues in our engine as well as taking care of business that arose from while we were out of town. PerkyStina and I are very thankful for all of the sponsors and the event in general. However, in light of recent events, we will be making a donation of our own in memory of Mark White at a time to soon be determined by financial state.

Phil, I gave a donation to one of your 'designated assistants' on sunday before we left for our long trip north. I was almost in tears during the speech about Mark, he made quite an impact on all of us
