Also ready, rain or shine, but hope it's shine! New plugs, oil change and all preventive maintenance checks DONE on my FD.
Ready to roll!
Started to pack already, finding room for my travel tool pack & car care/cleaning gear is more of a challenge in the FD than the FC!
Tool bag in the passenger side bin, most of my cleaning gear & premix lube supplies in the hatch, driver's side bin still vacant. Now I just need to pack my clothes in a smallish duffel bag
Unfortunately, my car died (alternator or some charging issue) last week after picking it up from the alignment. I decided to take my J32 swapped miata instead. Currently in Gatlinburg and will drive over to Robbinsville Wednesday morning.
I wish everybody a safe and fun time. I'm not going to make it out this year, but I'm already planning for 2024. Also, take lots of photos for those of us who need to know what we are missing!
I was feeling really bummed that my FD couldn’t make the trip and that it would rain but what I fantastic trip! Here’s my J32 miata being chased by my buddy from Chicago in a 94 CW. Glad I slowed down for him for this sweet, sweet pic!
I am feeling motivated to build both my FD and the miata track car now… time for my build thread on the forum to begin.
We had to contend with some wet weather running up the Cherohala Skyway, but it cleared up nicely by the afternoon when we ran the Tail and gathered at the damned dam. Good times!
Was going to post the obligatory Killboy shots of my FD, but they were too big to post on the forum, so this 129Slayer shot will have to do...

It was fun hanging out with you Pete! Lunch by the river was awesome! "Best Dam Chicken Sandwich" !
Another DGRR down!
Great to see old friends and meet new ones.
About 2K miles there and back, car ran great! So happy I reinstalled/charged the a/c for the trip As others have mention the weather was not the best for ripping though the mountain but it's still an AWESOME time! Already missing the roads up there!
You gotta just come man. Nothing to worry about. No need for anxiety brother!
There is also something about meeting the "main" guys on here the is also hard, even though I talk to several of them on here. In person is a completely different story. Why i am telling yall this is beyond how i normally am. Just trying to voice things to try and overcome.

Drove through Huntsville both ways this year. Next year remind me and we'll convoy! You quickly learn we are all just making our way along this rotary adventure... some a little more ahead, some a little less. But we all love the journey and sharing it. PLAN ON IT!!

TBH I don't find myself doing much talking... I just come to drive my car.
In self-exile from Facebook, is there any other site or portal that has images of the event. Specifically, I was hoping to see any pics and videos from the group events (Microtel gathering, Fontana Dam, Skyway, et.)
Just a quick shout-out to those of you I saw during my brief stay at DGRR this year. Great seeing all of you at the event, and I had a good time catching up.
Unfortunately, my mechanic let me down and did not have the BMW DCT trans conversion done in time. I went back to Asheville to check in on its progress - or lack of it - and realized it just wouldn't happen. We were hampered by a $2.50 BMW connecting plug that could not arrive until Tuesday. So, no fun for me to drive this year. The rental Mustang....sucked.
I'll most likely come back in the fall and take some time to drive 129, then. Maybe the whispered about DGRR fall event will happen? I'd love it if it did.
I hope everyone had a good and safe time. Now, back to work for me here in Morocco!
It was great seeing you again David! Dinner at Anthony's was fun as usual! Glad to see your father-in-law(Also David?) again also!
Hopefully get to see that beautiful FD real soon! The new transmission will be Amazing!
