If this has been suggested before, I apologize. Otherwise...:

People may be more inclined to read and/or pay more attention to the stickies if they stood out from the other posts more. As of right now, the only difference is that the title is preceded by the work "Sticky:" (and of course, it stays at the top).

Perhaps the title should always stay bold and red, as well (I see your "highlight" class in the CSS, hint hint). This may help the new users realize "oh, that looks important, maybe I should read that". It's very possible that not only is a new user new to this forum, but this may be the first forum they've ever used and aren't quite clear how to go about properly using it.

Nothing says "read me first" like big, red, bold print.
