Dave,

I just can't stand by and keep seeing you posting untruths about the quotes.

The minimum package for business/vendors is $200.00 a month for unlimited posting in the classifieds and a signature link.

Yes, there are many small businesses that just can't afford this. So with that said there are proposals being set forward to come up with a tailored tier system. A proposal for much less advertising costs for these individuals.

Myself and others are busting their asses to get this proposal accepted and implemented. I am not going to blow smoke up everyones ass about when it will take place but I can tell you that all will be able to afford this if we can get this done. I can tell you that IB is aware of this and we have gone over the needs of this site and that it is different than any other site.

they came back with what they call a RESPECTIBLE 1000.00 per month for advertising and selling privleages...

I told them I did not care if I had any advertising I just wanted to post for sale threads... they said that is EXACTLY what I would have to pay in order to do so..

SCREW THIS SHIT!!!!

If you ask me, extorting money from small-time sellers is ridiculous. Half the reason this site exists is to bring them to us. This ain't eBay.

There's a lot more users than there are sellers. Who are you making more money off of?

Of course I realize that nobody asked me.

I emailed the guy/company you gave me the email addy to I explained my situation told them about my personal life etc and they told me for the cost of 1000.00 PER MONTH I could get an add and the abilility to post any amount of for sale posts of any amount of items I want... I am not saying you are not tryign to fix this, however this is what I was told.

Well, that is not accurate information because that $ amount is for the maximum package which includes a private sub-forum, a signature banner, and a ton of other things. Something like over 4 million hits of advertising.

I hope they adjusting that 4 million hits number while IB is busy running off their meat and potatoes.

They've been going into regular members sigs and removing even vendor names from them.

Kind of rediculous.

Removing it from the vendor's account is reasonable but to edit people's sig/mod list just because they mentioned a vendor?
I Have Atkins 3mm rebuild mentioned in my sig. So, if Atkins doesn't pay. Do I have to remove the "atkins" from my sig?

I think a normal text or text link(different color debatable) should be acceptable but banners in sigs are worth $$. I think that would be a fair middle ground.

You all know images attract your eye 100x's more than text.

Mr rx7doctor, if you don't mind my asking-- are they paying you?

Fail. :ugh2:

Thanks for fostering a hostile environment and turning the few people that improved this board away. The least you could have done is tried to work out some solution with him instead of shutting him down completely.

LOL,. fostering a hostile enviornment... we aren't the guys taking cheap shots here.

BTW, I only cut and pasted from the FAQ/Rules section which you ALREADY agreed to before joining this forum. Nothing new in what I posted.

You have NO clue what type of work has been done over the last several years to cater to the needs of some users.. Before you try to pass off your opinion of the situation as some type of universal truth maybe you should do some homework on the subject first.

In gold stars.

Rx-7Doctor 02-27-08 01:40 PM

No, we are volunteers.

That means I am giving my time to try and resolve all of this. :-)

Dude-- when I volunteer for stuff, and someone asks me to do something unreasonable or antithetical to why I'm there and volunteering-- I tell them to fuck off.

That's just me, though.

Yeah, but volunteering as moderators on boards isn't exactly a big deal... I have volunteered to moderate, administrate, and host, so many different sites my head spins. The problem is that since you are volunteers, you are not as in touch with the corporate side of the equation and the sellers might be. So what you are told, might not be exactly what someone else is told. It happens all the time with forums and sites like this.

A+ for word selection with antithetical.

Suparslinc 02-27-08 01:45 PM

bouis 02-27-08 01:46 PM

Thank you, thank you. I'd like to thank my parents for driving me so hard, and God, ...and firefox, for correcting my spelling...

Firefox may fix spelling, but you have to have a pretty good idea of what you wanted to say in the first place ;) I love firefox, but it doesn't make up for poor language selection and usage :)

For the record, you are not me. Further more I am involved for the betterment of this Club for better of worse. Meaning I am not going to cut and run just because of issues like this. I am not going to abandon my fellow members and give up on a resolve to this situation because it's getting hot in the kitchen.

I have helped many members on this Club over the years. Not only with technical issues in the 1st gen specific section. But by getting involved in the BG section and going after members that have screwed over those on this Club and those that have just been poor sellers.

I am here to take the good with the bad. That's the difference between myself and a lot of others on this Club. I am not going to compound issues by adding more to the pile. I am going to work at a solution no matter what it takes. I understand you guys venting. That's not an issue.

You take it for what is worth.

"I was just following Hitler's orders!"

(Famous last words for a lot of folks.)

I hear you, but I don't know why you'd want to volunteer to be part the "or worse."

Well spoken. The weight of the duties that you find antithetical (since we're using it) must be greater than the benefit of the duties that you find worth while in order for you to leave.

Is bouis a "cut-and-run" administrator? ;)

Rx-7Doctor 02-27-08 02:02 PM

How in the hell can you say I am part of the worse?

I am the one that is spending countless hours trying to resolve this and make it better for all in the end. I am the one that has spent countless hours responding to pm's from members about this issue and working towards the betterment of this Club.

Please think before you post about something that you are not informed about when it comes to statements about myself.

IB should be so lucky to have folks like Kevin.

When they treat him like shit this is the least they should expect.

No, Kevin was not a paying advertiser for several years.

And he treated this place like shit and the people here like shit first. He started all the attacks and problems first, before any one of the crack downs on forum rule violators.

He started attacking the board and owners back way way before it was even IB.

It is shame he and others can't see that. I guess if they looked at all his posts for the last year they might get their eyes opened.
