Why should you be allowed as a Business to advertise for free when other businesses on this Club are paying for advertising?

Doc,

We've gone over this and over this.

My business is ENGINE BUILDING. I have made it publicly known in the last few months/years that I do not do mass parts sales like I did years ago. I only build engines.

IF I am selling a used car part here and there that I find on a shelf or in a drawer, not in bulk, and not an engine build...then THE AD DOES NOT RELATE TO MY BUSINESS, DOES IT NOW?.

I have never posted threads in the classifieds offering engine building services.

I build engines, I do not sell mass used parts. Hell, for that matter, how do you know that the single part I am selling is not off of my personal car? You don't.

So by your policy, I am penalized even if I want to sell something completely unrelated to my BUSINESS OF ENGINE BUILDING.

But for whatever reason, you cannot distinguish that. You say that because I am an engine builder, any lug nut that I try to sell is related to that business.

Let me clarify this for you.

Kevin,

You are a "Rotary" Business. This is a rotary site.
The parts that you are selling are tied to your business no matter how you see it.
These parts are directly related to your engine building business.

There is no way for us to distinguish anything else.

Trying to reason with you guys is about a futile effort as pissing in the wind, I swear. :banghead:

And you wonder why I have resorted to...what does Mark say..."causing trouble" here. There is no reasoning with anyone here.

Odd that I am able to distinguish between personal and business with the government, but not with you guys on this forum. That should tell you something about the state of things.

I have emailed IB about getting pricing twice. Never a word back.

If anyone else hears anything, PM me or post up what you were quoted. I am not going to waste time on this any longer.

That's funny as I contacted them twice about pricing and they don't seem to want to leave me alone. I get an email a week asking if I want to join the vendors group for 200/month.

200 a month!! wow..

RotaryResurrection 02-21-08 02:22 AM

Around here at least, a man can get a nice used car or a new econobox for that much.

That's a lot better than the $800/month being quoted prior, but still probably out of reach of most of the small businesses and individuals "deemed to be businesses" on here. I know for damn sure that I don't sell $200/month worth of parts, much less enough to cover shipping, paypal fees, and profit.

Well, this is not going anywhere again so it is being closed until an update is available.
Thanks to all that gave input to the subject.
