Ohh... you're asking for it now lol. Anyone who expresses concern over feedback usually gets a barrage of negative feedback LOL. G'luck!

Oh and jhammons01, even though I personally think you're a very immature and bigoted individual, those negative rep points weren't from me. I RARELY give out negative rep, only when it's REALLY deserved (except for Jim and I, who go back and forth LOL). And I don't give out feedback for stuff from the Lounge. That's not even the forum IMO lol

I personally don't care what the rep says...your rep lies w/ the ppl who know you. I am curious, however, what the breakdown is - how many points = 1 dot, = 2 dots, etc.

As far as people that have a gray square under their avator, that means the pos. doesn't over rate the neg. ratings and visa versa, therefore your neutral.

Alex, close, but no cigar. Very few ppl have rep higher than I do (https://www.rx7club.com/memberlist.p...ion&pp=50&ltr=), yet when they give me good rep points, it almost always gives me positive points. The gray is reserved for people w/ inadequate feedback as a whole. Ie, has very very little positive feedback, or has negative feedback (ie red dot). They won't affect your feedback score. Consequently, the better someone's feedback is, the more points it will contribute to your score. So Gil and Alex, that 7 or 8 point point bump you got... ;) Both of you are always so helpful :bigthumb:

Oh and FYI ppl, I know most ppl don't do this, but if I leave you feedback, I leave my name, so you KNOW it's me - or I leave a message that will CLEARLY indicate who it is :p: It's called having the courage to agree or disagree w/ someone ;) Internet thugs these days...LOL

TT_Rex_7 07-18-05 10:32 PM

Get ready for a neg. rep. point Ramy! Some dumbsh*t gave me one for no reason. The message they left was "Enjoy your red mark!"

Thanks for clearing that up BTW. Jimlab explained it a while back, I just must have remembered wrong. :)

FDNewbie 07-18-05 10:51 PM

It's cool man...some ppl have nothing better to do  My 8 points should help clear that up in no time :p: Oh and I think I should clarify that a gray dot does NOT tell you whether it was approval or disapproval Gil. If a guy w/ little or no feedback approves, you get a gray dot. If an idiot w/ negative feedback disapproves, you still get a gray dot. It's not specific.

But yea, right now my bigger worry/peev is WHY AM I NOT GETTING EMAIL NOTIFICATIONS?! lol. And threads I KNOW I've posted in don't show up in the User/CP as being active. It's like I gotta search and hunt for the threads now... grrr

Hey Ramy, thanks for the explanation. I +'d your feedback too. And thanks too to the anonymous member for your gratuitous point! Like to know who it is so I can reciprocate. :)

cult member? what the hell does that even mean?

A cult is like an extreme group of people that follow a leader/religion, that is typically led by false beleifs. For instance, lets say I hate [enter race here], so I join/make a "club" that is against [race entered ealier]. If I started the "club," then I'd try and get people to follow my beliefs about [race entered ealier] and act against the [race entered ealier] in extreme ways. If I joined the "club," then I would follow the leaders beleifs about [race entered ealier] and act against them in whatever way the leader tells me to. Now, just substitute "club" for "cult." Make sence? An example of a cult would be the KKK.

Do I get a green box now? :)

It's a little complicated. For every 1,000 posts, a user has 1 point of reputation altering power. For every 365 days of membership, a user has 1 point of reputation altering power. For every 100 points of reputation, a user has 1 point of reputation altering power. You have to have at least 50 posts and 10 reputation points before your votes affect others. And finally, you can leave a maximum of 10 reputation votes in a 24 hour period.

The ranking scale looks like this:

-999999 to -51 points = <User name> is infamous around these parts
-50 to -11 points = <User name> can only hope to improve
-10 to -1 points = <User name> has a little shameless behavior in the past
0-9 points = <User name> is an unknown quantity at this point
10-49 points = <User name> is on a distinguished road
50-149 points = <User name> will become famous soon enough
150-249 points = <User name> has a spectacular aura about
250-349 points = <User name> is a jewel in the rough
350-449 points = <User name> is just really nice
450-549 points = <User name> is a glorious beacon of light
550-649 points = <User name> is a name known to all
650-999 points = <User name> is a splendid one to behold
1000-1499 points = <User name> has much to be proud of
1500-1999 points = <User name> has a brilliant future
2000+ points = <User name> has a reputation beyond repute

So where does your "Jewel in the rough" fit in? :)

-Alex

Edit: Opps, I thought it was missing from the list, but I found it! :D

"reputation points" are gay with capital G...strictly for cowards who "hit and run", as the initial poster stated

the only people who take them seriously are people like Jim Labreck, who take themselves, and this forum, far too seriously

give me another one Jim...like I care, you egomaniac prick :D

Nooooo 08-04-05 11:12 PM hi friend ;)

I now have -23 points total, it's a bunch of crap and useless random negative points. I wanna know who is giving these to me.

christaylor 08-12-05 02:10 AM

Mine are hilarious because the only people I offend are stupid people.

I mean, when I leave a note I try to be creative about it. I insult their mothers, their upbringing, their sexual orientation, whatever, but I do it with a little pizzaz. Mine are either "you're an asshole" (which, by the way, thanks for the hot tip, dumbass) or "I like it up the pooper, here's a negative point for you".

Since apparently people take this seriously I'm going to have to start leaving negative points for people that obviously have trouble remembering they need to breath to survive.

DS2000 08-12-05 02:56 AM

^ lol, best post in this thread :)

christaylor 08-12-05 01:18 PM

Haha, somebody gave me a bad one for it.

EDIT: Oh, and I know who the cocksmoker is who leaves the "Enjoy your red mark" messages.

DemonicPupil 08-12-05 02:02 PM

To be honest, I look at the lil square, especially when shopping in the For Sale section and getting advice in the gen forums. Between that and post count, gives me a decent idea as to their rep around here and wether or not their words are worth a damn. Thus, me looking at me, mine dun mean shit :D

Suparslinc 08-15-05 10:25 PM

red marks mean you've been in the lounge too much. I doubt anybody is going to hit you for trying to give advice; unless it's deliberate bad advice, like telling somebody to hit ALT+F4 to save a new high score :D
