Reputation Points

Seems to me that the Reputation points are just ways for cowardly people to "hit and run". The way it is set up now, you have no way of knowing who is giving you bad points and for what reason. Should be addressed, you've empowered a way for people to stab at others from behind.

TurboSE 07-15-05 02:14 AM

:werd: I keep getting bad rep points For NO REASON!!!
I even got 2 gray ones(MODS?) 4 my "TOP GEAR ON DISCOVERY"thread? NOTHING OFFENSIVE OR SEX RELATED!!! WTF

Here is the latest "quote" from the CP

"Your just a fagot, no one likes your posts."

I posted the below picture. Now It may not be hilarious to some, but is it offensive?? I wouldn't say yes.

The Rep marks are NOT inicative of my reputation whatsoever. I have many PMs thanking me for helping out with a Tech suggestion. However those "thank you's" are somehow not tracked in the rep situation. I have tons of PMs talking with people abou tall kinds of things.....all good.

The reputation points are equall only to someone writing shit about you on the bathroom wall.

I'm receiving bad reputation points when i state facts and someone's opinion doesn't agree with my fact.

1985_RX-7 07-15-05 02:17 PM

I got bad rep. points in the "New RX-7" thread for saying that i heard that there might be a new rx-7 from a friend of mine...

I mainly dislike this system for one reason, it's annonymous.

Another forum i was on had a system like this, the abuse of it was cut down because it wasn't annonymous. If you received a good or bad reputation point, you know who gave it to you.

jhammons, i generally don't agree with one thing you say, but you diserved the good reputation point i just gave you.

DrunkenGimp 07-15-05 10:59 PM

Is it possible to only allow reputation points to be given in tech sections?

tomm 07-16-05 08:54 PM

I want to know what gray squares mean also.

Suparslinc 07-16-05 09:15 PM

^watch out, I asked that question and got negative rep

Of course it was in the lounge so I was asking for it.

Is there a way for us to turn it off?

TurboIIGuy 07-16-05 11:21 PM

wow Finally someone addressed this point.............Good job.....Lets see some action fromthe Mods now!!!!!

1985_RX-7 07-17-05 12:10 AM

We should have LtlbitJC Ask this question, she gets three mods answer and we just have a coversation with ourself...

tomm 07-17-05 11:33 PM

Why is this subject being ignored? Does anybody know what gray squares mean yet?

Thats an easy question to answer. Its because the mods get the same question asked about rep points all the time & I think they get tired of bieng asked the same shit. So I guess they think if they ignore for long enough, that we'll just forget about the question.

tomm 07-18-05 12:39 AM

Really? This is the first time I have ever seen the subject brought up.

O 16581 72452 5 07-18-05 02:10 AM

Grey means neutral.

What does that mean, you get an even amount of "approve" and disapprove" votes on a specfic post? I gave some wheel advice yesterday and got a gray square on that post (https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.p...82) and don't see why anyone would diss it.

You received a gray square because their reputation is lower than yours. In other words, if somone gives you neg. feedback, and theirs is worse than yours, it has no ill effect on yours, so you get a "neutral" rating.

As far as people that have a gray square under their avator, that means the pos. doesn't over rate the neg. ratings and visa versa, therefore your neutral.

tomm 07-18-05 03:31 AM

Does anyone know exactly how many neg. feedbacks it takes to make you in the red?

Just how many licks does it take to get to the Tootsie Roll center of a Tootsie Pop? Nobody knows!!!!!!

On a serious note...I wouldn't have asked that! Everyone will probably give you neg. rep. points now, just to see how many it takes! :rlaugh:

I think the really important issue is "who cares"

Its an internet forum, and tbh I don't think I've ever been on an OT section more hostile anywhere

Remember never take the internet seriously :)

+ points for everyone in here :)

razorback 07-18-05 03:18 PM

someone didnt like my post in the "cults in your areas" thread so they gave me neg:( guess someone cant take a joke.
