GA product review page needed!

im a former miata owner, and one thing that the miata forum had that was so helpful was their product review page! it has personal reviews of all parts from wheels to tires, to tops, to body kits, to exhausts, to intakes, to turbo kits, to clutches, plugs, wires, etc. everything! here's a link for an example. i think it would help all of us and especially the newbs!
thanks, marlon

There's a lot of stuff needed, I have a list about 5 pages long ... literally. A prod review page is on that list.

The new owners - Internet Brands - want to create pretty much everything on my list, but it's going to take time. Expect to start seeing some changes within the next few weeks however. Then there's at least one BIG change hopefully coming by April.

Quick question. On Ls1tech (another IB Board) they've restricted discussion of products regarding vendors that are not paying sponsors. Is this something we should expect in the pipeline for the Rx7Club?

Keep in mind that in the LS1 world, many vendors produce the same product, in which case their restriction to paying vendors is logical. Over here there may only be one vendor that makes a specific product and user searching for a solution might not be able to find that information.

I sure hope not, I know I'll start a ****-storm if they try that here. I don't know if it was an IB decision or the decision of the LS1tech guys though, do you know?

Unknown. I don't spend a great deal of time there due to the fact that I only browse the classifieds for parts. Their tech sections are very organized however and they do have a product review forum.

I DO know they've been under IB for awhile longer then us. LS1tech has been (in my opinion) extremely successful. I get the impression that IB may try to use the template of ls1tech on some of the other forums they've purchased. They have tons of sponsors and I know their sponsor program is not cheap. The shops that tend to advertise there are well established and generate quite a bit of revenue from running specials through their vendor forums.

The difference between Rx7club and Ls1tech is age. Ls1tech has an older user base which tends to be more "financially established" then the age group on the Rx7club. I don't necessarily see IB finding this site as lucrative (per capita) as LS1tech and therefore we sort of fall outside the cookiecutter management templates that might work elsewhere.

Again, just my take on things ymmv.

That kind of thing is already started like having no ads in your signature and needing forum approval to post about products. I'm surprised they haven't asked me to remove my signature.
