ON Posting Pictures

I've noticed that on this forum people use the site itself to host the pictures they're trying to post... On a lot of the other forums I'm familiar with, they use a third party picture host. Just wondering if it's because members on here are just unfamiliar with the third party hosts?

I find it's way easier to have a third party like imgur because they even give you a BBCode you can just copy and paste, and you can use them on any forum/message board as far as I know.

Or is this not allowed?

Thanks in advance
-Josh

For the sake of future reference, it works out better if the images in a tutorial, write up, or some example of a problem or solution are hosted on the site. That way they will be visible for years. I've seen so many threads that are useless now without the original externally hosted pics. Because they expired or deleted or got re-organized and don't display anymore

Ahhh, a very good point I've noticed that as well..

Kind of obvious now that I think about it.

Pictures on this site load slow and you have to click on them making them popup...kinda dumb.
