Ls1 Section

Alkthough i am not a supporter of ditching the rotary, I think that the LS1 swap is becoming so popular that we should host a section on such, this is an RX7 forum, not a rotary forum, correct?

Funny thing is the "Other Engine Conversion" Section is under Rotary Performance Section.

an rx7 is not an rx7 without a rotary.

Yes, Ive had my FD modded with the twins and modded with a single Greddy T78 and my stock ls1 is still better. I had four FD's seating in my driveway a few months ago and sold all the rotary powered ones. Im happy with my car so I dont need to convince anyone.

Still says so on the back of the car, the vehicle title, and insurance card.

Since 99.9% of the members here have rotary motors there is no real LS1 knowledge. LS1 guys would be best served by something like www.torquecentral.com

yea, a seperate forum altogether would be nice, or a seperate section. im tired of hearing about the swap, and oh how its so much better than the wankel. its on the to-do list ...right after "grow a mullet" and "marry my cousin". you all keep your LS1s, ill keep my wankel, and we'll both feel sorry for eachother.

So why have a "Other Engine Conversion" Section?

Because that lumps all engines together and is useful. A section on a rotary site strictly about the LS1 is not useful IMO.

I don't disagree with you. The point I'm trying to make is that since 99.9% of RX-7's are rotary engined cars you will not find much LS1 knowledge on this particular board. The LS1 cars certainly have their place here on this site but they do not warrant their own section. The "Other Engine Conversions" section is not so crazy you can't find stuff. I count exactly 10 threads that have been active in that section since Sunday!

The traffic does not warrant a new section.

Will you ever forgive me?

HEY! i started this thread to better the site, not so you ******** could start a v8 VS rotary flame-war.
An Rx-7 is an Rx-7 as long as it has the VIN of an Rx-7. to correct you, the ratio of active LS1 users and active rotary users is closer to 10% LS1 and growing! and in my local car meet's case, the meet was 50% LS1 at one point, i think not adding an LS1 section is a step in the wrong direction, it will shun people, make our site more exclusive then it already is. to have a forum ONLY about 1 car is pretty exclusive to begin with, but to exclude some people because of their mods is not alright IMO

yes, 70,000 members is pretty exclusive.
thats why i like to hang out on rx7club, because i like rx7's and rotarys. why get things all complicated with different cars. if you dont like rx7's and would rather talk about ls1's and corvettes i suggest you leave or go hang out in the lounge.

I still check this site out often because I can find useful info on suspension, brakes and everything else on my rx7. For driveline related stuff I use torquecentral and ls1tech. I'm done arguing with you close minded individuals who have nothing intelligent to add so they play the "mullet card". Granted there are a few that take the pro v8 stuff too far as well. It's your car, do whatever you want to it.

70,000 members yet you're the only person crying about it.

Im pretty sure its not 7,000, but I know the number of people interested exceeds that.

Thats funny, because from a guy's POV, an rx7 with the LS1 swap is like a chick with a great boob job. Looks like it belongs there, and makes her better in every way. So all you rotary guys and girl, have any friends/wives/girlfriends who are as flat and un-peaky as the rotary's torque curve that use that boob job?

Why not get a camero you ask? Those big ***** look much better on a sexy lil chick then some overweight lady such as the mero!
