DelSlow, send a PM to rx7doctor and see if he knows whats up. Might just be a weekend that several mods all happen to be busy enjoying the fall weather in their RX-7s.
KaiFD3S, 2 hours? Are you really that impaitent?

You must not have read the announcement: https://www.rx7club.com/announcement.php?f=194&a=167
It's posted at the top of every classified section (or should be).

the approval thing is useless now that we have the newb section setup. It's just highly inconvenient and gives self righteous mods more reason to think that they are doing us some sort of favor. News flash, you're under foot, nothing more.
There's basically no more spam, but you guys couldn't spot a scammer if it was tattooed on his forehead. This is evidenced by the fact that the number of new BG threads hasn't gone down at all since implementing this unruly, cumbersome. useless system.

Brian- The mod approval was not in place just because of spam. It was mainly put in place because of people posting ebay links, craiglist, and not even saying what the prices were!
Also, we can't tell if somebody is a scammer, unless it is obvious spam. That's why it is always buyer beware. The approval thing is going great now, and everything runs much smoother. We could always go back to non-approval and let everything run free, and I will send you all of the PM's that I send to members telling them to give me a price so I can add it in there thread. Our time spent moderating in the classifieds has been cut down by ALOT now thanks to pre-approval.

Anyway, if you're going to make people wait hours or days before their threads are posted, then maybe you should remove the time limit on editing posts in the classifieds section. Because now you've got someone who maybe accidentally clicked submit instead of preview and has some revisions to make, not only do they have to wait hours or days until some poo-slinger reads the thread and decides it's postable, then they have to PM another mod requesting the revision(s). So now you've got possible 2 or more poo-throwing mods involved, pretending they have any greater purpose in life, then bitching because they don't get paid to moderate and pretending they have a real life.

Brian- You are smarter than that, and know better than this to say I am "full of ****". EBAY PAYS FOR THOSE ADVERTISEMENTS!
You are way out of line, act your age, not your shoe size. And what the hell does EBAY have to do with pre-moderation? Now you are just pulling things from left and right field just to throw at us.

Former Moderator. RIP Icemark.
You're full of ****, ebay is an advertiser on this site. It's pathetic that the OLD rule for no ebay links is still enforced. The "staff" has their heads so far up their asses it's laughable.

#2 Ad pre-moderation has been in place since the summer, and is clearly announced ahead of time of implementation.
#3 the moderators for the classifieds sections all can and do review the ads on a regular basis. They do not need to kick it to anyone else and have the full power to edit, approve, or send back the ad on their own. They do not need to include any other mod in their review.
#4 generally ads are approved in less than 12 hours, but occasionally when there is a big back log of ads that fail to meet the requirements of a Location, a Price and a description it may take longer.
#5 Location, a Price and a Description are not too much to ask for a member to put in his or her For Sale ad... yet probably 35% of the ads submitted do not have one or more of those. This means that the moderator has to contact the seller, and get that info from them, adding to the time that everyone must wait to get their ads posted. Would you prefer that we just delete the ads? Or would you rather see ads that say they are selling a motor, but not description on where it is; how much it is, or if it even runs?
For example this thread was to be posted in the 3rd gen vehicles for sale:
Nissan 240sx w/2001 spec R s15,work,tomei,blitz,apex...Fs-Ft...$12,000
Hmmm... selling a Nissan in the 3rd gen vehicles section, with no location in the title... fixing that thread is gonna waste the time that could be used approving other threads.
#6 If you wish to link your ebay ad, you can pay for the ad... just like Ebay does. Ebay does not get to post links for free, why should you or any other member?

It's not our job to spot a scam artist FYI.
It's the buyer to beware as stated in the main FAQ rules section.
A lot of the bad guy threads are about existing long term members also. This is the sign of a tough economy where people are over extended and trying to rob Peter to pay Paul.
We have done all we can do regarding covering yourself as a buyer except hold your hand.
Many members do not report bad or questionable transactions until weeks and even months later when we have stated in many of those bad guy threads that these matters need to be addressed in a timely manner. We can only take action when it is reported and that is up to the buyer, not the moderators.

If all you're after is money, why don't you charge for each classifieds post? After all, classifieds posts are advertisements, and someone is making money when you aren't. What's so different between a private-party post in the classifieds section and a link to a private-party eBay auction? Is it because they typically don't have an asking price? What if it has a buy-it-now option, and all the required details are included in the post? Would you allow it then? Or is it because eBay gets money out of it and you don't? If so, we're back to my first question.
Furthermore, it does seem like a waste of everyone's time to do it this way. Why not just delete non-compliant posts? Moderators have to review the posts either way, and if there's nothing wrong with the post, why delay it?

We do delete non-compliant threads. But we still have to pm the member to let them know that it was deleted and the reason why. The reason we do it this way is to have a record that we addressed the issue with the particular seller so that there threads are compliant in the future and that will help with their delays. As far as regular delays go, there are a lot of threads generated and the mods only have X amount of time available to moderate these threads. So yes at times it does take longer.
There are several reasons for not allowing ebay threads.
1) Yes we do require a asking price
2) All of the information regarding for sale threads need to be done on this site so that in case of a dispute we can retrieve the material. EBay threads disappear and there is no way to reference them. This is one way of protecting members.
3) A lot of scammers use Ebay as a tool to rip people off so we could not control any of this if we allowed any links to ebay or even any off site selling. Therefore it is not allowed.

it sucks to have to wait... but the least a seller can do is take in account the buyer
nothing worse then ads with links to other websites... I don't know how many times in the past I clicked a link and it was either broken, an ebay auction that ended or another forum where I was not a member and didn't want to become a member

That is what we are doing.
If you are stating that we should not moderate the classifieds like we are doing and look for the threads after the member posts them that are not in compliance. Then that is just about impossible to do and we could not add enough moderators to accomplish that.
The system that we have in place is working and will continue to become smoother as time goes on.
