why do i all the sudden need "X" amount of posts to get "privledges"? thats bogus... how about you give me 500 posts. i'm not an idiot i just don't post very often. i never registered for this site beofer cause i've been bouncing on different deployments. anyways i'm gonna post here a few times so that i can once again PM my peeps

 

The rule is in place to twart spammers and bots that are able to infiltrate the forum.

As spammers and bots have gotten more sophisticated they tricks needed to twart them have increased as well.

Most spammers or bots will several posts, but rarely reach the "X" number of posts needed to grant them additional priviledges.

Yes, there are certain places in the forum that posts do not count, specifically the Lounge and other non-contributory areas.

Additionally, post whoring to increase your post count is something not looked upon favorably, that's why some of your posts might have disappeared in general.
