Can't make a new thread in the F.S. Section

For some reason, over the past several months, I have been unable to make a new thread on the 3rd gen parts FS section. After I submit the thread it says it will not be published until a moderator approves it, I have submitted several over the past several months and have had none approved. I think the issue may be of a software origin maybe? I don't think my threads are offensive or suspicious in anyway. Will a moderator please look into that for me? thanks!

There isn't anything wrong with the software. Your threads were not approved as they were missing the location icon (#1 reason why ads are deleted).

Take a look at this announcement. If you follow what it says when you create your ads, you shouldn't have any trouble getting your ads approved.

Good luck.

Why is there a redundancy if the location/state is already asked in the drop down menu?

Ideally, they would be tied together. The location icon requirement was around before the dropdown menu came about. The dropdown doesn't do anything in the title, so users can't see where you are located in unless they go into the thread.

The location is very helpful for large/heavy parts as people will often want to buy/sell those locally. It also is nice for the smaller items either to save on shipping times/costs or for those people who want to do everything in person.

It would be nice to setup the software to provide the icon automatically based on the dropdown menu, but currently, it isn't able to be setup that way.

The location icon is easy to forget at first, but you should follow that annoucement anyway on the first few ads until you get it down. Taking an extra minute or two and making sure you have covered everything will save days/weeks of waiting around wondering why your ad isn't up. If you follow the annoucement, your ad will almost certainly be approved and usually quickly (matter of hours or less, usually under a day).

Once you have a few ads under your belt, selecting the location icon, putting in a price for each item, etc. will become second nature. Clicking that icon will only take you about 2 seconds extra.

Some of this may seem overly complicated or difficult, but really, it isn't. The system does work. The classifieds used to be a trainwreck on here. No FS/WTB icons, no location, etc. People would make ads that simply said "TII engine" and you had no idea if they wanted one, were selling one, or where they were even located (may be international, even). You also had a lot more spammers and scammers back then.

Once you pull your new ad together, you can shoot me a PM to look at it to make sure that you did everything right. However, if you follow that annoucement, it should have no trouble getting approved.

I'm having the same issue. I've been a member here for more than 10 years and a member of the rx7forum (board this one was made from), and was on the "big list" before that. In other words I'm not a n00b, and feel pretty competent when it comes to posting on message boards. I've made three "wanted" ads over the past month and none of them seem to get approved. They just dissapear into some sort of rx7club black hole. All I want to do is buy a freakin headlight cover.

Anyone able to get my for sale/wanted posts approved? I can't see anything I'm doing wrong. It baffles me that the stars need to be in alignment to start a thread in the classifieds on this board anymore.
