A$$wholes in the forum

theres people in this forum that act in the most ignorant way...they like to quickly say" f**k off go and search" with out knowing if the person has checked or not and what if he just wants couple of guys who probably had gone through threw tha same to answer a simple question,
most of these guys have thousands of post, and a couple are moderators
i aint trying to bring no one out i am just throwing in a suggestion as the thread states,
if everyone was like ReTED then we would have a forum where a 16 old gets a question as simple as "what kind of exhaust is good for my 86" answerd
for those off you who are passing down your knowledge good on you
those of you that just have the sign **** off in your foreheads, exactly what you said!!!!!

You mean like this?

http://railgun69.homeip.net/menu-search.jpg

Chances are that these questions have been asked and answered. It has nothing to do with "passing the knowledge" but rather not cluttering the crap outta the forum so that these things can actually be found.

Sadly, most times when you search...you just come up on a thread that tells that person to search...and so starts a near endless trail of searching at times.

Well, 99% of the time, I do multiple searches with different word combinations to find the best results then link that pic to that search result. Yeah, you may have to fish through some threads, but the info IS there.

I hate having to type the same **** 3-5 times a week.....when someone posts stupid questions I tell them to search and post a link to the results THAT WAY others will GET the desired results WHEN THEY SEARCH!

You know I was actually thinking about this earlier on today.

At one point and time we were all noobs and we all asked stupid questions...right? When it comes down to it there are plenty of people on the forum that are a$$holes about searching. Trust me I have seen a ton of threads where a "experienced" forum member tells the person to **** off and go search. Granted that the post creater probably deserved the search comment but to say the least they did not deserve the **** off comment. There are tons more elegant ways to say "shut up noob and do a search"

Personally, I am in no way an expert and still learn something everyday and am always open to anothers opinion, I frankly am tired of people that that think that they know what the hell that they are talking about and interject random "knowledge"...this is how people get screwed. If you don't know...don't post.

To be a little more specific there is a thread on the 3rd gen section right now where a fairly new member asked what kind of reliability the FD had. The thread was make up you minds. Is clearly states that he has searched and wants to know what is true. Is the 3rd gen reliable or not... I can see how he got confused. Even when you search there are tons of answers that can come up.

As far as the searching comment goes there is a small trick to figure out which thread to open. Look at the view mark and post mark. If they are high then it is probably the thread that you are looking for Hope this helps.

When it comes down to it relax and enjoy the forum. We are all rx-7 owner or soon to be and IMO we should not bicker over such menial things.

One last thing...if we keep this thread civil then it should not be shut. ReTed please do not take this as a personal attack...I am a big fan of your sight and your work.

Z

Just a thought if noobs didnt post the same question over and over would this forum at some point in time become just an inactive archive and we wouldnt have nething else to do. Just my 0.02

But back on subject even when I search, when it accually works on my computer, I cannot find the information that I was looking for because of all the double post of people looking for the same info that I was looking for. And if i do find it I usually have questions about the procedure that was not explained in detail. And then I get told to search. Then Im all the way back to square one.

Example. Tried to find info on a carb that I got for my first gen. I run a Edelbrook where as most people run a holley. Well I search and cannot find what I am looking for. So i post my question, and like 20 seconds later I get told by a guy with 5 posts to search, which i did. I think that most people read the title and imediatly tell you to search with out reading the rest of the question.

I always been fascinated with rotary and when I first came here I got alot of bad attitude but for my love of rotary I would not give up. Now I know alot more about rotary by being patient. For the people that is grumpy, please notice that these are the next generation rotorhead and they need as much help needed to keep rotary alive.
