Yeti T04B lag machine. Update #189

Well today I ran my boost line directly to the side port of my turbonetics Racegate wastegate (42mm). 9 psi spring. It hits anywhere from 7psi to 18psi. When I had my Apexi AVCR hooked up I could not control the boost no matter what. I hit 1.2bar repeatedly. Or worse only 8psi It was not stable. Its almost telling me the WG is done. There should not be anything wrong with the boost controller since previously with the stock system the boost controller worked perfect.

The funny thing is that my boost still will not kick in worth **** till 5000rpm. I'm beginning to think that possible there is nothing wrong with my turbo or system etc and maybe it's just the WG. I had it pulled apart three times but it all looks good and functional. Even with me video taping the WG it looks like it operates as it should.

I must have done something to disturb the rotary gods!

So it was a direct hookup from a UIM vac nipple to the sideport on the WG?
No boostcontroller in the system at all?

There is no way in hell you should be boosting above spring pressure, ever....

Well here are two reasons one the line that is hooked up to the wastegate is leaking and not giving proper pressure to the WG. The second is the Wastegate is boxed, possibly stuck partially open, Give you a lousy spool but also doesn't open enough to prevent boost spike at high RPM.

Yes. No boost controller hooked up at all.

Weird isn't it.

Well I had the thing ripped apart three times. The diaphram looks good and always the valve looks like it has seated fine.

Anyhow I will be borrowing a friends deltagate wastegate. Its smaller but it should just bolt in so I can see if this is the cause.
