Who's still playing next year?

I could give you some really good B.S. line, but the reality is that the 1/2 bridge is the template I have and it doesn't look too risky. It does extend down past the primary port, but it isn't one of the OMG is the corner seal going to fall in types of templates.
I want a good reliable more powerful type of motor, with an extended rev range and this 1/2 bridge looked like the way to go. I will try it on this motor and if it doesn't turn my "eccentric shaft" I will build a full bridge with the running motor in my car. Evil/ Coldfire, both of you are right with your comments and my motivations, but a full bridge will have to wait for a while.

yeah, you could make the argument that doing a bridge on the primary also is the way to go, since it will be a race application. i guess it's all up to the people who build and race the car
23racer, just to confirm, so you are using 4-port end housings? or 6-port end housings?
1/2 bridge i would assume 4-port side housings...

Well, I hope you build that full-bridge NA car, coldfire Aaron. Lots of top end I would imagine. Would be nice to get a ride in one.
Nik's H-BP stock turbo car was pretty neat. Lots of grunt down low. Always gave him that little jump on me.
Full BP turbo is intriguing. But, I drove my car almost every day this summer, and I enjoyed it. I would like to keep doing that, so I don't see myself really going that route. Too many broken cars around here already. Just seems to extreme for a DD, considering wear and tear and gas prices.

Nope, using 6 port end housings. The 1/2 bridge (my terminology, forgive my newby mistake) refers to a bridge that extends parallel to the secondary (5th and 6th Port openning and extends down past the closure of the primary ports (3rd and 4th ports). As the bridge doesnt extend to the primary ports I assumed it was a 1/2 bridge. This 1/2 bridge supposedly maintains low end response and allows deeper breathing when the secondary ports open.
As I don't use the rotary valves any longer I felt that I would keep good port velocity and still have a deep breathing high end motor. We will see after it goes all back together.

i drive my car pretty much everyday in the summer, and i need it to take me to work.
i'm willing to sacrifice some driveability for power though.
i like how you say his car had a good low-end. Nik says nothing really happens until after 3-4k, but then it goes nuts lol, (i know first hand from being in the car).
23racer, post a pic of the template, if you can, sometime. i'd be interested is seeing how it looks like

Wow,
Some nice builds coming along. Nice to see some more rotaries will be rolling next year and some nice projects on their way.
There was a time I couild not even meet one person with a ported motor 4 years ago and now all of these different types of porting and ecu's are everywhere.
Anyhow my budget just got axed. My daily driver took a turn for the worse and now I need to replace it. Can't find anything to replace it with thought.
(Waste of $1000 in parts alone!) Hard to draw the line of when do you stop putting money into a car.

No Plans...
Maybe buy some new shoes for the 8 in the summer, but we'll see.
I'll get out to as many meets as I can, but proabably not as many as this year.

Jaymez, did you sell the car to someone who's already part of the RX-7 community in Calgary? (I don't think you need to post the name, I'm just curious if we can expect the car to stay in Calgary)

New Project on the Way...

Drop rear end and replace all bushings/grommets, and rusted out bolts glass beat and repaint parts. (some polyeurathane some stock)
Paint my car Engine bay was done and looks fantastic.
Install Torino II seats, and fabricate 4pt harness bars to racing standards.
drive somewhere reputable and have my car tuned in the states somewhere
that will be about all I can afford until I graduate.

So far.
WB wired in the car.
Front bumper removed and getting read for more "air" inlets.
Suspension/diff is completely off the car. All suspension parts and diff, diff mount, triaxle arm etc has been clean and painted and bushings installed.
Left to do is install all parts, fuel pulsation dampener, rear strut bar, non-abs brake lines etc.
Car goes April 1st to get the roll bar installed at Obrien Motorsports, then to get the whole car balanced with race tires etc.
