ON where to get insurance for a graduating student ?

well this is how it is, this summer ive been working my *** off to make money to buy all the parts i need to get my 1987 N/a rx7 running again, and im putting it all back together before i graduate this school year coming up and i want to drive it prob by the end of fall, i have looked around and the cheapest i found was 400 bucks a month, lol thats two weeks pay :P. also i will be working during school season, so i need a cheap insurance company in hamilton region. also i found out if i register the car at my grandmas place in beamsville ( middle of nowhere) i would save like 70-80 bucks a month instead of letting it stay registered in hamilton still.

Well like your grandmas place, middle of nowhere = cheap of the cheap!
Know a friend who lives in like waterloo? hella cheap.
Just as long as you see them every now and then to pick up the mail.

Yeah you can use ur Grandma's address for sure...and maybe also use a Broker...Companies like wawanesa..personal...have good rates but you have to go through a broker.

figure I'll throw in my 2 cents, as I spent a lot of time comparing insurance companies and rates.
The best thing I found was kanetix.ca (may have spelt that incorrectly). they found me the best rates the easiest way. Desjardins, and bel air will probably be the companies for you to go with. Realistically though, expect atleast $300 a month.

Yep, starting out with insurance isn't cheap. I started with wawanesa and I think I was paying about $2500 a year for my Rx-7. I was 20 at the time I believe. Middle of nowhere doesn't always mean cheap insurance. I live in a town of 1000 people and my insurance rates are higher than if I were to live in Kitchener/Waterloo. Apparently people where I live have a problem with drinking....

If there's any group insurance you can get in on, it's much better. Alumni groups and such things are where you can get them.

When I first bought a car, State Farm insured me in the late 90's when insurance was going nuts and many companies wouldn't even insure new drivers. At least not men.

a few weeks ago there was a study and women of all ages proved worse than men. so women's insurance rates are suppose to raise in accordance of the study, but of course, us, men, don't see any benefit
