Well, I've finally done it...
nice pics that aluminum paint looks f-ing awesome! Nice your clearly experienced maybe you can answer a question for me. My rear rotor stopped making compression on my s5, so i found a donor motor and did the swap myself. Now i would like to disassemble the original motor and do a rebuild. My question is what specialty tools are needed? I have a fair number of tools already but I was told your standard mechanic tools were not adequit for a rotory rebuild, is this true? thanks Jay

Well, I don't know how experianced I am, I have never rebuilt a motor before, but normal mechanics tools are really all that is required. Other than the Measuring tools, like the vernier caliper, and a micrometer is also required, but you can buy those at a place like BusyBee or some other trades supply stores.
I would suggest buying the Atkins rebuild video however.
Good Luck

Oh just thought of another tool that is required, feeler gauges, don't cheap out on them either, Starett, or Mititoyo are some of the best you can get.

They are Junk, but I can't buy the good Old MotorMaster Formula1 filters any more. I think with this motor, I will try Wix.
I am planning on porting it, Just going to clean up the intakes to make them smooth, and then the exhaust will be ported to match the exhaust sleeve.
