Didn't someone in your neck of the woods do that?

I remember seeing one out there. Near edmonton somewhere? :P

There was a guy in Ontario Region about 10 years ago that put a small block Ford in his car. Sounded great pulled okay, but the motor was so high and far forward, the car handled like a pig.

take a visit to norotors.com, there's a bunch of information and pictures there. Here's mine from a long time ago.

I can't say how it handles compared to how it used to, though I run a power rack with no P/S and even the GF drives it with no problems so it's not as much of an anchor as people assume.

Im not sure. Theres a couple 3 rotors rockin out here in FC's and FD's, but they are souped up to the ****. Alot of the big horsepower rotary builds are closet rotary guys, you dont see their cars much, just the taillights usually.

Isn't the Ford small block a little more compact than SBC or LS motors - I would have thought it could be located a little lower and further back. Or was that just a matter of how the conversion was done? I don't really know - but an aluminum small block Ford seems appealing, though more expensive option, since Ford never mass-produced aluminum Windsors (but they are available aftermarket - http://www.worldcastings.com/product...num-block.html)

I'll try and grab some newer pictures of it - it looks like a mess in that picture. The motor is pretty much as far back and as low as you can get without firewall changes and being a daredevil with the oilpan and raised manhole covers. And size wise, I'm not sure how the LS compares to a earlier ford. However, I know it's a lot lighter and overall a lot better engine. The Mod motors are good too, though they're enormous.

So I found a new 1989 harness. (In Japan) I could possible install a 1989 engine in my 10th AE. Question is will this work. Assuming I have a complete 1989 engine to install and ECU.... Will the rest of the stuff just bolt right in?

Make sure its not a RHD harness or it'll be too short.

Got burned once when I bought a harness from a guy in the southern US. He never told me it came from a RHD clip.

Oh also your chassis harness will not plug into the 89 ECU.
A long long time ago I helped a friend swap a complete 89 T2 engine, ecu, harness and all the S5 sensors into a S4 chassis. ALOT of cutting and splicing was required.

O. Ok. Never thought of that. Thanks. If thats the case then maybe forget it. It would be alot of work to take all of my stuff from the 1989 and put it into the 1988.... Will figure this out eventually. As it stands the 10th AE might be sitting awhile. Will definately not be ready for next years deals gap then...
