Track Day April 24, 2005

We have a track day at shannonville (pro track) April 24 and have 7 spots left. The day costs $250.00 with instruction available and a free barbeque lunch. You CANNOT just show up at the track. If you are interested call me 416-752-0970 and ask for Alan.

I realize that Sunday is the RX meet, however this day has been planned since last fall. Pacione Motorsports has an exotic car lapping day twice a year (spring and fall). It is limited to 25 cars with actual race car drivers as instructors. The vehicles on the track are Ferrari's, Maserati and Porsche (and my Miata or RX-8) as well some pretty fast race cars. If you are thinking about going to the track this year, this is one of the safest most fun track days available. Unlimited track time!

It'd be good if everyone tried to show-up for the meet...it's not just to say you went, it's to show your presence in the community and make it stronger.

daem0n,

Don't worry about 7_rocket... He likes getting under people's skin... That's who he is... Whether he makes it or not, is no big loss on our part! (BAMM!!)

01racing,

It's cool that you keep us up to date on lapping days. You wouldn't have a special schedule regarding Mosport lapping days?? Just because it's a bit closer to home. And the track is much more interesting than flatland Shannonville..
Still recommended for folks who don't have much experience on a race track...

See everyone at the meet (with the exception of 01Racing... )

Lates,

I just checked that out. $300 if you pre-register. $350 at the door. Unfortunately, all of the kensai racing cars are FWD.

01racing, so if I am not mistaken, at the April 24th lapping day, I would have the chance to go lapping in a ferrari, porsche, maserati, etc for $250?

I think you misunderstood. There probably will be ferraris, porsches and maseratis at the track, but I'm pretty sure that only the owners of these vehicles will be lapping in them! It's nice to dream though.

Man, I'd love to bring the '8' out, but I have prior engagements in Etob.
Otherwise I'd skip the RX club meet in a second.

Shame you didn't mention it earlier since the whole point of the club is to get together and participate in these type of events.

Oh well the season is just beginning, so once everyone has their cars out there will be a much higher attendance. Some of us don't have a winter car and only drive our RX's during late spring/summer/early fall.

Just to clear everything up, the cars on the track will be the exotics. You might have a chance to get a RIDE in one if you ask nice! I didnt mention it early because usually we are sold out right away. It is a great safe fun track day, and the food is great too. We will be bringing our RX-7 race car to bed in new tires and brakes and our Mazdasports Miata.

I understand now, and the cold is ALMOST gone.

Guys, do it, you will not regret it. Nothing you will be doing in that time frame will compare to what is being offered here.

That's kind of rude. Basically you're saying that this is a lot better than the Ottawa meet. I don't care what people do with their own time but don't put rotary events down. There are lots of "other" events going on all the time...I thought the whole point of this forum was to get together as a rx-7 community.

Dude, calm down, I didn't mean it that way! I wasn't trying to say anything relating to the Ottawa meet, I was encouraging people to go to a track day.

Hehe, Snrub.
I was just watching old vids of you, me and Ian at Shannonville. You had a good 'fight' with a pesky civic

The Ottawa Meet Cruise is great, so are all the other get togethers. But nothing compares to tracking your car. Didn't get to go once last year, too many problems...

It was a while ago, but I don't remember battling with a Civic. I remember there were all sorts of race cars that I had to get out of the way of. I do remember that most people wouldn't get out of your way if you were clearly faster. They seemed to want to see if two novices could have a pass occur without an accident, something I wasn't willing to try.

Someone from here must have went. I seen a red 2nd gen going west on the 401 near Whitby with a "C20" sticker on the upper middle part of the windsheild. on Sunday night.
