Toronto: Need compression test on RX-8...can pay for your time.

I'm looking at an RX-8 for sale in North York, Toronto.

It has 140km so before I fly up from Florida, I was hoping to find someone up there who could take a look and compression test it for me.

I'm willing to pay for your time if you can check it out for me. Thanks!

Ask the owner of the rx8 to bring the car to Marco's "thewird" shop for a test.

It's at a dealership and it's the lowest priced car on their lot...they don't seem willing to bring it anywhere. haha

If it has 140km original on it, its within 20k km of a rebuild. RX-8's are like clockwork, they die at 160k km +/- 20k km.

It's possible the car already had a new shortblock installed.

I care more about compression than I do about stated mileage.

So, no one is interested? No one wants to make $100 or whatever for an hour of time?

Bro, just go to oreillys, buy a standard compression tester, take the Schrader valve out, and watch for even bounces abov 90psi.

Do they not teach you guys to read up in Canada? lol

I thought I was pretty clear:

I live in FLORIDA. The car is in TORONTO. I want to PAY someone (who lives in/near Toronto) to go to the dealer to check out / compression test the car.

I already spoke with the dealer and they are unwilling to take the car to a Mazda dealer for a compression test. It's literally the cheapest car on their lot so they just don't care enough.

Pm me, I'm pretty sure the car is near my shop anyways. (I'm in North York)
