It took some time but...

I finally got my VW back together last night.

Kristen and I took it for a spin around the block, and whoo doggies, we are cranking out AT LEAST 69 horsepower! The header and tune up really picked up the power from when we first got it. Amazing what clean carbs will do!

So, safety next week, and we officially go to 4 cars! Yikes!

The biggest problem is how hilarious-fun the car is. If someone were to offer me a trade on a good FG dunebuggy, I might convert to aircooled VW's full time!

Well, none of them have serious problems... To quote RavenBC, the olds "sounds like it could come appart at any minute" but it is actually pretty solid except for a slight hesitation at throttle tip in.

The RX could always use a little lovin', but it still runs strong at or near the double century...

The VW is actually pretty o.k. It's a million years old, and has no radio, and I've got to put tires on it before the safety, but for its age, it is pretty not-too-shabby.

The Protege needs a trany fluid change, and a brake fluid change. Should get to that this week.

My biggest problem is time! With 4 cars, and 240 kms traveled per day between Kristen and I, I feel like I am doing oil changes twice a week!

Good job on the VDub! Get her safetied so you can take me for a spin.
Are you gonna be home next week during the day or are you back to work?

Other then that, I feel your pain on the weekly oil changes! I have to do the "8" today come to think of it.
