For those interested try the MCO School!

This past weekend I tried the MCO Race School with Nik and Jason.

http://www.mco.org/cms/index.php?name=Content&pid=10

The MCO school was a very well organized and fun event. We covered all the requirements in obtaining the regional race license CASC stuff...........

Anyhow it covered every configuration of shannonville and it was neat running the long track, pro track, nelson and fabi all in one weekend.

Another fun training was race starts. 16 of us would follow a pace car and as soon as we were on the back straight the pace car took off leaving those behind at a controlled pace to jump at the green flag. I was lucky and "qualified first place" so I had a chance to start the grid right beside a GT3 porche and behind me was Jason with his Black NA with another porsch and a bunch or other fine cars! Needless to say I was owned on the green flag since 2nd gear 3000rpm flooring does nothing for my turbo! After which he (GT3) told me he started it in first gear. But nothing like dragging down the straight hitting corner one with 16 other cars behind you. Same goes when we switch roles and i was in the middle of the pack with two fully race prepped S2000's. Man there are alot of fast drivers out there!

I would recommend it to anyone as it really improved my driving skill and confidence. Now to keep going and learn more

I don't have any pictures but managed to get one hour of video from my roll bar mounted video camera. I was much to busy to even really spend time changing tapes or even to worry about turning the thing on.

Anyhow looking forward to hitting up some car control classes. Maybe two Time attach races and some lapping. Gonna hit up the Calabogie track too.

Ian

Sounds really cool. How did passing work? What did they do to help you learn?

I was there as well, and agree with IAN 100%

For passing at first there was none, and later there was passing in certain designated areas(the straights).
