Suspension upgrade for FD

So I have been reading lots of info regarding suspensions. But for those that have seen my car, and know that I have large rims ( perhaps 19 inch rims were too big ) I was wondering what you think the best upgrade for me is.

I know coilovers are suppose to be the best, and you can duplicate a similar setup with proper springs and shocks. I however do not track my car and so I do not think I need the best setup. It is unlikely I will out drive my suspension with the limited amount of time my car will ever see a race track.

Having said that I think coilovers are still the best solution for me because of the size of rims. Why???

Because they offer a greater range of height adjustments, where shocks, and or springs would not. My car does not rub now, but I am certain if I slammed it to the ground it would scrape every where. Coilovers would allow me to select the lowest ride before I rub while still giving me a bit better handling.

Again because I do not track the car, I was thinking I could get away with a cheaper set of coilovers like Megan, or Tein.

Does this sound logical or is there a better way of going a bout this? Besides replacing my rims! lol

Also what weight would you guys recommend for a 99.99% street car?

You're right about rubbing. I had RB springs (which don't slam the car too much) and Tokico 5 ways, and the front would definitely rub at full lock and going over bumps at higher speeds. The fender liners took a beating. This was with 17's and 235 fronts.

Our race FD uses TEIN coilovers. Works for us. Would work great for you.

Coilovers would definitely be a good choice for you. Howard likes the Tien Flex as an affordable option.

On a side note, I liked my H&R spring + Koni yellow shock combo. I had no rubbing issues with stock rims or my 18" rims but not sure about your 19's.
