Sort of Mazdaspeed North!
We are launching our Scion brand come September and are going to do an event like Mazdaspeed North was last year. Would any of you be interested in coming out to such an event? There will be Scions here to test drive and a great venue to show off your RX7's again! (you were the biggest club last year)....Anyone interested????

Heck Al, if you are letting RX7's show at the dealership, maybe I can borrow your trailer and show both the RX7 and the Cougar. We can do a rev off and see who has the loudest car.
The Cougar sounds like an F1 car when I rev it up. The RX7 sounds just a bit (well a lot) annoying, all BRAP, BRAP, BRAP, BRAPPPPPPP, BRAP, BRAP, shudder, BRAP, BRAP, BRAP, etc.......

No problem. I will kick your butt after you put that cat on your car to pass emissions, LOL.
I can set mine up to belch huge ***** of flame on the overrun. At Shannonville last time, the car was kicking out about 10 foot streamers of flame and for some reason nobody wanted to follow me into a corner.
The Cougar was soooooooo loud before we added the muffler, that I had other competitors offering to buy me a muffler for the car. There is some in-car from a car that was 2 rows back from me and on the pace lap you couldn't hear his car, only mine. Its amazing what 13.2 to 1 compression, C12, a high overlap cam, long tube headers dumping into 3" pipe and an 8 lb flywheel does for noise. I used to think the rotary pig was bad, but the Cougar is far worse. The drone under load was even more annoying than the idle on the 1/2 bridge.

The reason we chose to invite all enthusiasts is exactly that. No discrimination of make or model. It gives us the opportunity to introduce Scion, to see lots of really cool cars etc. We are hoping to have 1.5 times as many cars this time, and more vendors etc. We are targeting the 2nd Sunday in October that way most of the events and track days are already over. I am also looking at doing the lunch time lapping at Mosport the September 19 race day for those that are interested!

Not really.... I'd have to stay at the back of the pack and take a little slower pace on the corners. On the straights though I'd be fine. This is of course only if we're doing the whole pace car thing like last year. If it's actually going to be lapping I'll just sit it out or ride shotty with someone.

The cars were getting called to the grid and they still had no brake pedal firmness. They had gone through about 5 cans of brake fluid and the pedal still collapsed to the floor. I got back from a meeting and said just close the bleeders, fill the master and put the wheels on. I will take it out and use the parking brake to slow the car down, thinking that I could pump up the pedal on the way to the grid.
As I pulled out on to the track I still had no pedal and I was a bit worried. So I took the first lap easy and everything was okay as long as I was in a straight line going into 5a. I picked up the pace and frantically pumped the pedal all the way up Andretti Straight trying to get some semblance of a firm pedal, but everytime I applied the brakes, the pedal sank to the floor.
Well to cut a long story short, after doing this for about 6 laps and going as fast as I could, I pulled into the pits and had to stop the car with the parking brake in pit lane. Dave, my crew chief, told me that I had gone surprisingly quickly and had thought that the pedal had come back.
I made the field and pulled a 1:40.6 out of the car with no brakes. Pretty cool and I guess it confirms Thewirds feelings..
Now someday I will tell you how we got a set of vented rear calipers to work on non-vented rotors using old pads for spacers or the time I got the rotors all covered in backing plate material after going metal to metal for 6 laps then chipping off 90% of the metal off with a screwdriver then using the same rotors to finish in the top 10 in the Ontario Challange race at Shannonville. Those stories are even cooler.
