Soon To Be Mine?

Hey Guys,

I've been on this board for so long, I have an 88 bayside blue 88 convertible in Ottawa. Recently I've been looking for FD's in the Ottawa area and I've finally stumbled on what seems to be a really clean and well maintained car.

It's a '93 LHD Black on Black PEP with 49k on it. I went to go see it friday and I really like the condition it's in. He started it up for me it cranked first try and it idled fine after the first couple of minutes. GOOD SIGN but i wasn't able to test drive it as it was a really shitty day on friday.

Here's the Ad's for it.

I am familiar with FD's as I have been obsessed with these cars since I've had my 88. I know the troubles the FD's have, all their vacum leaks the oil dripping from the turbo's etc. etc. This one doesn't seem to have any of those problems.. yet.. With such few miles on it for the condition it's in it kind of worries me that as soon as I get it and put a couple km's on it.

I have a daily driver and this car would strictly be for weekends and nice days out on the road. I can properly store it in a dry place.

What I need to know if there is someone who is more familiar with the FD's in the Ottawa Area willing to come with me and throughouly walk through the car and make sure I'm not making a terrible mistake lol and what exactly I should offer for a car like this. I will compensate them with a beer or a coffee there choice!! lol

I know what I'm getting into with a car like this as I am familiar with them I just need some expertise that I'm choosing the right one.

Paul The owner of the car said he posted this for sale last year with no bites on the car I found that to be strange as it is a very nice example of an FD.

Thanks!!

Marcus

Since you are pretty close you should really check out the below car if it is still available.

And if I were you I would be looking at this car, with an engine recently rebuilt by reputable builders.

The Ottawa one looks nice. I saw the ad in the Autotrader. Let us know if it is as good as it looks.
Maybe send RXcetera (Will) a PM. He knows the FD in and out, and might have some time to help you look at it.

The other cars are modified. Maybe Marcus is old skool and wants (properly working) sequential twins. That's what I'd want

Thats Exactly what I want... I just don't know if it's work blowing 23k on it and then driving it a couple hundred km's and it blowing a vacum line on the turbo system. He is very firm on his price and the car does look good.
