LS1 makes triple the torque, double the horsepower, gets the same mileage, costs less, and bolts in. Just sayin.

im after around 240ish whp, Better gas mileage, stong aftermarket support and easy to find engines that are cheap

Im picking up the K24 for $100 burns oil from a honda dealership

$400 pistons, $600 cams some machine work I'll be half what an ls1 swap costs make my 240whp and get awesome gas mileage

240 isn't a huge goal a stock K20z1 can hit 210-230ish whp stock

Ive still got a new 13b in my car right now with less than 8000 km's on it I plan on playing with it for a bit longer, I'll need time to source out the parts for the swap

Just drop an REW in lol. I think theres a street ported already single one converted for sale in the US section for decent price. All you would need is a PowerFC and some wiring skills.

HATEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE! Nah im jk, but why not just get a ek shell or eg shell since the engine is really gonna be that cheap? And how r u gonna mount a k24 into a fc? Maybe a awd swap or something? This one is gonna be interesting... . Im all for keeping a rotary inside a rx7, but i would love to see this swap!

You're doing it backwards. Put a 13b in a civic, not the other way around.

whatever floats your boat, I guess you can't beat honda reliability. There was a k20 swap into a 240 that was turboed. I believe it was australian....crazy aussies lol.

The only thing with K-swaps especially is the wiring issues with WILL run into, seems like a lot of fab work also....why not an F20c? they can make 200+ na. Much easier too since its oem orientation is rwd. also what are you planning on using for engine management? K-pro?

Hate, boo, hiss, I think your posting in the wrong forum! What type of lawnmower engine is that?

Rotaries have never been known for their torque, but they make up for it with their broad powerband with higher HP, especially with a turbo on it.

That's the thing a k24 has a very broad power band and more torque and it'll make good power while being n/a and not having to deal with turbo heat under the hood

Nope, I can't like this idea.

3 rotor NA, yes. But pistons in an RX7 is...well it's just wrong.

RX7s are suppose to burn oil and burn gas and challenge the owner's mechanical ability and have unexpected costs.

Misery loves company, right? Brothers?

Half way to an LS swap may not quite be true... there's still the issues of mounting and I'm not sure what your transmission plan is... I'm sure I could think of more problems...

Overall though, whatever floats your boat.

Running, working 300+ stock aluminum block 5.3L from a GM truck: $500
Cheap T56: $1000
Oil pan/intake to make the truck motor work: $200
LS1 PCM and harness: $200-$400
Corvette motor mounts: $100?
Used LS1 clutch bits $100
Adapter thingy to make it bolt in: $100?
all in all, like $2k to get a running LS1 based motor into your car that will outperform the K24 in every way you can measure. (and some you can't, like sound)
Assuming you do it the cheapest way possible. You could easily spend $20k+ on the swap if you wanted, but these numbers are realistic for a cheapest possible swap.

Vs K24
$100
Pistons/cams $1000
Bellhousing? Trans? $$$
Clutch? $$$
Ecu/harness? $$$

It may not be better on gas either, especially on the hwy.

I'm not saying your plan is terrible or anything, but when you look at it it's hard to justify swapping anything that isn't an LS1 into an rx-7.

It'll never run. The wiring will defeat you. Unless you spend some big bux on a standalone that can run the triple Vtec on that bitch.
