FATAL ACCIDENT WITH FLEURIMONT

Two medical students implied

Claude Plante

The Platform

Sherbrooke

A road accident made a death and a severely wounded person, in the night of Monday to Tuesday, Sherbrooke.

The loss of control occurred around one hour of the morning on the Duplessis way, in the Fleurimont district. The car flipped over some.

Two 19 year old young people, of the medical students, were on board. The driver was ejected and is deceased later a few minutes, after its arrival at the hospital of the CHUS of Fleurimont.

The passenger, who was a prisoner of the carcass of the car, has also transported him with the CHUS of Fleurimont. Its state is stable. One does not fear for his life.

They are young men originating in the Canton in Magog and Montreal which remained in the residences of the medical students close to the CHUS of Fleurimont.

An investigation was setting-up by the Service of police force of Sherbrooke. One questions oneself with knowing if speed, a distraction or a mechanical breaking would be in question.

Nobody was pilot event.

Road assessment

This accident occurs at the time when it is learned that the road assessment in Estrie was disastrous in 2005. One deplores 46 deaths on the roads of the area last year, that is to say an increase of 53,3% compared to the year 2004, where the assessment rose with 30 deaths.

Sad.

That FD is a hell of a solid car though. If only they weren't quite so fast.

Godspeed kids. Hopefully we get another go round.

Dang! Poor FD... Too bad about the passengers... although, it says one of them looks like they're stable. The driver must not have been wearing his seatbelt. Can't really be ejected from the car if you're wearing your seatbelt!

The FD is a very strong car. In the wrong hands, it can bite back and things can get out of control fast! Hence all the added BS electronics on cars nowadays! Which is 1 of the many reasons why I still love the FD. A pure sportscar!!

Lates,

You know Will, I've never completely stopped thinking about it. Especially when we approach the 'anniversary' date...

It's always a reminder that the fun we're having with our cars needs to be well balanced, we're playing on a very thin line... and it's easily crossed without warning.

Sure does.

It's hard seeing things like that when you know that A) it probably could have been avoided altogether and B) we have all driven that way at some point or another.
