So long Canada......

I wanted to post a thread letting everyone here know that I've been offered a job with a shop near Santa Cruz California and if all goes well I'll be starting near the end of May.

The company is called Canepa Designs Canepa <----check out the webiste

They offered me a position working in thier Porsche 959 Supercar department, retrofitting the 959's with modern electronics, turbos, suspension ect to make them road legal here in North America. As well as helping out thier Motorsport department maintain and restore vintage racecars.

Its been a blast up here in Ontario building Rotaries for as long as I have, meeting LOTS of rotorheads, hanging out at meets and going for cruises! Many customers of mine have turned into good friends and I will always keep in touch!

I have been extremely lucky to be doing what I love for so many years and I owe it all to you guys/gals!

Thank You!!!

BTW keep an eye in the Classified section......I've got to sell all my parts before I move away!

Fingers crossed for you Joe. I've been to Canepa a number of times (great winding highway from San Jose to Santa Cruz, I'd love to drive it everyday) and the place always has me in awe. Bruce is super too, very happy to talk cars or better yet business. If it works out I'll drop you a note when I'm down next spring. Maybe you can get me a test drive in the AMG CLK DTM I've had my eyes on for years lol

You're stoked! You said SV in your other thread, but I didn't know it was gonna be with Bruce!
That place is like a museum, Bruce is a pretty cool guy, Scotts Valley is beautiful, and I'm sure you will be paid well if you're working around all those exotic cars. Congrats!
My dad has been friends with Bruce forever (bought more then one car from him), and my sister in law works there, so I'll probably see ya around.

Man, thats going to be a long way to send my motor for a refresh.....

Seriously, you are going to have a ball and the cars Bruce is involved with are totally incredible. You may still see me at some vintage events with my buddies from Vancouver or the 25 Hour this December at Thunderhill.

It will be a great experience and tons of funs. Good luck, thanks and all the best.

D'oh. Hadn't thought of that. Don't lose (and maybe make copies of) my port template during all of this!

Once again, congratulations. You just scored a job in Candy Land, so go live the dream.

Congrats!!! Incredible assignment. The only one better would be building and maintaining cars for Leno (IMO). Hope to see you at a future Sevenstock event now that you're no longer geographically challenged

Thanks everyone!! I'm pretty stoked on this opportunity. It seems like a great place to live and work.

Natey, we'll have to meet up sometime so you can show me around. My gf and I are flying down on April 27 until the 30 to meet the guys at Canepa and to check out some apartments we're looking at in Santa Cruz.

23Racer and Redshift, maybe I'll come back for a rebuild weekend, line up a bunch of engines and have an apex seal party. Hahaha

RCCAZ 1 - I might actually bring the R100 down to try selling in the future....not sure yet. I'll never sell my 616, but the R100.....maybe.

Congrats Joe! Sounds like an incredible opportunity. Best of luck!

This ought to fix the watered down beer problem:

Dave, how is it that the only post where you make full use of Capitalization, punctuation and grammar is in a Hillbilly song?
